Jammeh's windfall biscuits claimed a life and another hospitalized in critical condition.
If the latest is to go by, then it is a pathetic situation.
Some times he throws money; other times biscuits.
It is no doubt in the minds of decent Gambians that fetish beliefs can neither heal nor prolong his reign for a nanosecond. It is high time that he is asked to stop doing the act.
It shows no respect to throw food or money to people.

It is sad to see people scrambling for biscuits & money, in the process die. This owes its fact to the one throwing money or food.

It is unimaginable that a President will treat his own people like Tourist. For President Jammeh to throw biscuits at small children like vultures is beyond any words. Was he trying to find out how hungery small kids are in the Gambia? Did he know that kids will only run after biscuits because they are starving to death?
Have these kids not pay the untimate price for scrambling for a biscuit or two? What a shame? What an inhumane treatment. This is serious and am ashame of our President

Is this a late April fools joke. How come none of the Gambian Newspapers have reported this or international news? If this had really happened I am sure it would of been leaked into the media by now.How come The Point, Observer of Foroyaa have not picked up on it. Is this yet another rummour from the scaremonger posse at least try to make these stories sound credible.

| When I was a kid we used to wait on the Banjul-Serekunda road for a man called Landing Kotoring Janneh, who used to throw packs of bread daily to us. We would call in sing song ''Bolong bolong mburo faye'' as we scramble for the dropped packs. He became the chief of Kombo North later in life. Bless him. I hasten to add that those days traffic was not so high as it is now. |

That I cannot answer. Newspapers or other outlets has a choice over what they report. As well if it didn't happen, how come up til this time, no one said it didn't happen -including Foroyaa, The Point, Observer and the international outlets?

| i read this story and find it hard to believe, one yaya vey really opens his window when travelling, 2nd they did not know a 2nd car coming behind, bogus, when the president travels you do not run out before the all clear. something not right about this story. |

People report news to inform and educate. I am not going to push and pull with any one over the story: "It's true. It's not true." That is not the debate that I will do. However, any concerned individual -you or anyone else can opine as you wish. That still won't change the fact of what happened. The news is reported and we will take full responsibility of it.
After a clear establishment that it happened by anyone, the debate here will be;
what can be done to stop Jammeh throwing biscuits and money?
What can be done to stop human beings being victims to death of biscuits' windfall?
These two fundamental questions should be tackled. Unless there is something important to respond on this topic, I will let time vibdicate this story in debate, among the many other controversial stories debated here with never an apology even if such analysts were to be dead wrong.
Another important thing to caution commentators to differentiate their opinions with news, the case for Jambo here, because there is a tendency to confuse or mislead others just by speculating about a story that doesn't resonate with you. Over the years, i figured that is more dangerous than any other crime one can commit, beacuse by misleading people, you are already giving people a false impression, thereby changing the direction of a debate supposed to be healthy to a brawl. Not this time! Whether a story is weird, sound, et cetera...the point is the news in it is what is reported.
In a nutshell, I hope people don't debate just for debating sake or for distractions. Besides, I am too busy to engage in back and forward threading. Jambo, make sure, you don't take this point above personal. It is uttered out of clear conscience. I have seen some here quit threading just beacuse others disagree with them. In as much as the news should be in its proper place -i.e facts, which i totally agree with, a lot of other things like debating trend should be checked to accuracy. If you don't have a way of verifying a story, you should probably hold onto your guns or prayer-beads for the others than can. You will be alright...Those reporting the news are on the ground, needless to point this out to any that does/n't care.

On the side of Gainako, we stand by the story. We will not respond to any thing petty or dragging to harsh threading beacuse that is a distraction. Readers are more than welcome to opine, disagree and hopefully move a step further even to verify the story for themselves. This debate must continue for those that are interested.

I have personally witnessed this bafoon driving his own hummer at reckless speeds on the highway; with the windows down trowing APRC shirts to people. The lead vehicle is a pickup type vehicle with a mounted machine gun on the back manned by another bafoon swaying it left to right.

WOOW AKu Pickin, I know I did not hear you drop the nuclear option. For the shake of our country and to set better examples for the future generation I do not think it is a good idea to suggest opposition to APRC by all means necessary. The Charles Taylor school of though is what we know as Liberia.
Those of us with a little bit of experience with the by the all means necessary option will tell you it is better to fight democratically. Hope you get my drift |

Aku Pickin, I am with you. We need to take the "bafoon" by the horn. I wonder how long we can wait to see our brothers and sister being killed, kidnapped,and humiliated by this regime? Jammeh will never leave office peacefully, because he thinks Gambians, especially the opposition are afraid of him and that he owns the country.
I understand why some people object to forceful removal of this regime, but many more lives would be saved by remoing this lunatic from power than a protracted debate. And sometimes, violence is the only solution to remedy certain kind of sociatal problems, such as Jammeh's blatant disregard of our laws.

I beg to defer, APRC has never been treathen at the polls. They have enjoyed power at the expense of a weak opposition. If we unite behind a party and a strong leader we will see a difference. |
