The ministerial portfolio occupied by Yankuba Touray until yesterday has been filled today. The new guy is Kanja Sanneh. He was until recently residing in Kansas city Missouri. He hailed from Kiang Kaiaf.

Good info Bronx, but what happened to Touray himself?

Kansas would be a good place for him to get people, his brother was schooling there, possibility some linkage will be realized with time.

I don't know what happened to Touray. Jammeh's brother was indeed going to school in Missouri. He graduated and left a couple of weeks before the elections. Susan Ogoo was at his graduation and flew home on the same flight with Kanja and the younger brother.

Yes,in Kansas. i know his brother. We grew up together in the same village, only he was older than me.

After yankuba's good songs in the past elections, we expect that he will be closer to the man now.

Thanks for sharing. & happy eid in advance.

later.

May be Yanks will be Vice President. After all, he worked more for the Party than any single one of them.

Hej,
Is it the Kanja Sanneh from Kaiaf who was an Armitage scholar? When I left Gambia he was working at the port authoritie. He used to work on the Lady Wright. Is it that Kanja?

Kanja is indeed from Kaiaf. He worked for the United Nations in east africa at some point. Until recently he taught sociology at a missouri college. His dad was chief in Kiang and therefore armitage might be a possibility for him since it was the school for offsprings of chiefs then.

Ebra,
Kanja has three masters degrees...Agric, sociology and public health. He did worked in a nursing home like so many other Gambians. It is a decent way of making a living. He also worked for NARI and the united nations. I am not holding fort for the guy, what I detest is the way you disparage people who work as CNAs. I have a few friends who started as CNAs and worked their way to become directors of nursing and nurse anesthesiologist . There is nothing, zilch wrong with the job.

What's wrong in working as CNA? by the way my profession is far from Nursing. And the student jobs i do here are no way near nursing. Am just curious as to the reason why you described it in a nuseating way. Anyway i find it a dignified way to etch out a living, instead of being a parasite as some do around. Claiming asylum status just to pick up crumbs. I think if Kanja is up to the job why not give him a chance at least the guy has a degree in the area and has worked in it for a while. All we can do is wish him good luck. maybe he can turn the fortunes of the all important but dying sector of our economy.

I've never being a nurse, but i get admiration jealousy over those that are nurses. American jobs are only for them, and nursing is among the highest paying jobs in America.

As long as it is "clean sweat"/halal. That's what should matter. Being a nurse might be more lucrative than being a professor. I live with a registered nurse, and i know how much he earns in a day.

Nursing is a noble profession. Helping people when they need it the most. When they are most vulnerable. Disparaging people who undertake it to make a living is the lowest form of demagoguery.
