Another invasion or innovation?.
The British drink too much, behave themselves badly Now we have it in black and white.
The British are noticeable abroad ever more frequently through „excessive drinking and misbehavior “.
An official study of the British State Department occupies.
In Spain, the favourite vacation country of them ,the arrests took there inhabitants(!) within a year around a third quarter plus!: 2032 English were determined. In France in the period by April 2006 until March 2007 153 the British were arrested. Not really surprisingly: Many of the arrests were attributed to „bad behaviour because of too much alcohol “. According to the report „British behavior abroad “the British make each year for approximately 17 million journeys into the sun country . 6710 lost their passport, 695 had in the hospital to be admitted. Also in Greece there were more than 600 hospitalizations of the British, in Thailand 324, many there because of accidents with motorcycles. But according to the report too much alcohol mostly was in the play. „We have it with bad lewd conduct behavior and coma drinking “, let us nod Seaton of „the campaign for true education “
And Daily Mail go even further more saying." This is shameful one „ and national dishonor “.

Quite so,such behaviour is bad,but as you youself say "approximately 17 million journeys into the sun country ." if I was a maths expert I could work out the percentage,but 153 arrests thats not too bad I would say.I do agree that loutish behaviour is not helped by excessive amounts of alcohol. |

Oh, I could be snide and say that these were all English tourists  but I acknowledge that drink is generally a staple in the Scottish diet too!! Don't partake myself and can say, from a female perspective, that there's nothing more disgusting/off-putting than some drunken fool trying to start a conversation with you ... perhaps that's one of the main factors for British ladies looking elsewhere for 'companionship'????!!!

I disagree blaming or single out brits on this one. Brits are more liberal society that any other nation in the world. Imagine russians are going gambia? Or austraians? I believe they would have more problems than brits. Brits are not only liberal they are more open to different cultures. They have big immigrants population and brits have long history living/colonizing other nations so they do have experience. There are exceptions sometime they suffer from superiority complex but that is not significant.
And brits are going to abroad for love, it is more to do with the brit women are more liberal and independent than any other nation in the world. I worked in london, i think brit women love their independence, i go further and state that brit women has less chance to have successfull marriages as the demand their independent more which cause the marriages fail.
Imagine would italian women go to gambia to get some young gambian boay. No, the religion, the social norms, the conservatism, the racist elements would never make this happening easier than british women. British women have no problem with getting their sexual dreams to reality. They basically don't care anyone. They like their freedom and freewill. And they got economic independence as well. |

I am independent, divorced, middle aged and happy that way!
Alot of men seem to find that intimidating.
I am not prepared to settle for any fat, drunken english man! ( I know you aren't ALL like that, but quite alot in Yorkshire are!)
I would like a true partner in life, a soul mate....and if I cant find that then I would much prefer to live on my own.  |

turk, I am not lurker (though we share the same zodiac sign) or toubab, and I don't know what could be wrong with the British men. I saw really handsome guys in UK. Interesting faces. But maybe they drink too much. Drunken men are not the best lovers, and alcohol can alter your personality in a very negative way.
Turkey owns many good looking men too, they know how to court a lady, and most of them don't drink. Maybe this is why British ladies go to Turkey? (NO, I have NEVER been in Turkey, in Gambia, in Greece, in Tunisia, in UK or in any other country in the world as a sex tourist!!!  )
Or is it simply the fact that people, no matter where they come from, behave in a foreign country like they never would behave at home? England is said to be a bit uptight about sex... |

Most Englishmen of the same age as the guys they fawn over wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
I never saw the article Turk's talking about but heard about it and it was heartbreaking these young men are in a sense prostitutes going against what they truly believed as it was a way of supporting their family's they took the jobs in these bars and worked for a pittance the threat of the 'sack' if they don't make these 'women' happy.
It actually showed the other side of the story for once.
The sex tourist industry exists in developing countries because the payout's can be handsome.
You always hear of these men and women being conned by their Gambian loves, the poor innocents!! but what about the empty promises they've given these people in order to bed them. |

Everyone has choices in life and about how to live their life.
Even in poor countries such as Gambia it must be remembered that the BIG majority live good moral lives. It is a small minority that choose to be prostitutes and a few that choose to be bumsters or gigalos.
Within the hotels the big prize for the staff is to have a white, usually english, partner. But they are the minority of Gambians. Most live a quiet Muslim life in the village.
Like wise the 'sex tourists' are a minority of the millions of white people that travel for holidays.
This trade will always go on. |

If attitudes in the society are that elder women are just something to spit on, no wonder they travel to Gambia or Turkey.
