The wrong practice of one government does not warrant other governments to do same way. Sister Omega writing about the protests against the war and how the Blair government defied people demands. Let us get things clear. The Labour Government was voted in through the normal democratic process. During election times in the UK, the incumbent would not place opposing parties under any unfair scale of balance. By permit of that freedom, George Galloway was seen on Channel 4 Big Brother. Out of BB, he did not stop to address what he felt about the Forest Gate Shooting by police on the two Muslim brothers. No police or army will shoot and kill demonstrators in UK. Tony Blair recently permited a police probe on his office and person over the Cash for Honour scandal. How do you compare that to what Jammeh and his blind fanatics feel when you even mention anything about Jammeh's sultan, emperor dresses?

Before the Iraq war, protests were held in many towns and cities accross Britain. Police have been seen walking side by side with protestors. In Gambia, Jammeh would send his army to shoot like they did to school children. In short, the public in UK and other civilised democracies are free to protest. In Gambia, those who dare to challenge Jammeh's wrong doings stand to be killed. Many examples are glaring before your own eyes.

Lansana Conte is a good example for Jammeh and all his blind fanatics to learn from. This gross misconduct of Jammeh is not sustainable. Saddam Hussein thought he commanded angels from hell to crush any person who would not accept him God. Jammeh is descending on that track. Suddam had more of everything than Jammeh. How did he end? Where is Chemical Ali ? Is that what you wish for Jammeh? The saddest situation is that bunches of selfish persons and groups are using Jammeh's era to get what greed dictates. They all know that the end is nothing in Jammeh's favour. All they believe is that even if Jammeh is crushed, they would have had their houses built, their children or themselves schooled, lot of food on the table, air travels of spouse and other family ties etc. By that they are scoring on Jammeh who unfortunately pretends too that all is OK. Some times Jammeh becomes tickled by this greedy attitude of people like that. Then he gets mad with them. That is why Jammeh gets more and more imbalanced. His fear and mistrust grow graphically. Even those of you who now pose as standing for Jammeh would not do so 15 years ago. It is all sham. Very few people in Gambia really favour Jammeh. The bulk of people who write or talk in support of Jammeh are simply defending personal interest. Name one person talking or writing to defend Jammeh whose is not based on personal interest !!

I do defend Jammeh, and I have no personal interest in it. I never work for the government and never had any inducement for any of my praises to Jammeh.
Then I guess is time for me to contact him (State House)so as to have my share, if that is the case.

Santa. am just too scare should things fall apart, if I start having my slice of cake from Oga. This might lead me to be a guest at Shareton Hotel. I rather be at Guantanamo Bay than Africa's 5 star hotel (Mile II).

So far won with even of 00.01/2% means win!

Party(ies) Votes % of Votes

APRC 6386 - 52%
NADD/UNDP-NRP 5836 - 48% (NADD-4296 UDP/NRP- 1540)

Difference 550 - 4%

A safe conclusion is that when all the drumming and singing is gone, the APRC candidate will be taking a slippery walk of shame with only a narrow margin of 4% (whatever that means)

To be fair enough, a win being just a win is not all about it. We need to look at the entire process and work on improving it. Let us not be taken blind by immediate narrow favours.

Karamba The only way one can truly ascertain why there was a 4% swing in Serekunda Central against NADD is to ask questions. No amount of pseudo telepathy over the internet will answer them for you. Unless more Gambians in Gambia who voted post in from Serekunda Central to confirm what their reasons for the 4% swing were. Yes I also agree that evaluating the results after the election process is important and ypou will probably find that when the evaluation process is finished that attitudinal change is a good place to start.

Sister Omega,

The 4% is not a swing. It relates to 550 votes (difference between APRC total votes and the combined NADD/UDP-NRP votes) It is does in any way imply a swing. It is simply a fact on the ground. How it stood at 4% and not less or more is not what calls for a debate. My concern is about manner of governance as opposed to varience of 4% , 40% etc. Even if the APRC emerges with 90% it makes no difference if the rule of law does not prevail. With 20% and rule of law, that is the whole issue. No civilised people would like to be subjected to misrule. Would you want to misrule if you were president of any country?
