Kotoo Kayjatta, I concurred with you that he played his role in politics and should be commended for it, but to depart like this is something worrisome. I think the most credible politicians in Gambia is Halifa and Seedia, they are not like others flip floping . I do not have confidence in OJ too. Beleive me he too is on the verge to be part of APRC. I cry for mother Gambia because is heading to one party state and Yahya will be a life president. There is no doubt about it. Time will tell. |

Kayjatta, I agree with you. I think by talking about the Dankunku Beast [Juwara], we are glorifying him and that is not something he deserves but I can also understand why people had to talk about him. This is man who had made so much noise in hopelessly trying to tarnish the image of decent Gambians and had insulted so many Gambian elders in his apparant attempt to dislodge APRC. For him to be seen campaigning for APRC is therefore newsworthy. The people are therefore entitled to talk about it.
As for the article that preceded yours, please tell the author that there is no party in the Gambia called UPD.
Ebra, thanks for your article, Waa's friend you failed to mention is no other than Fabakary Jarju. Please accept this complement.
Thanks |
I do not oppose unity but I oppose dumb union. |

Folks, Yesterday's happenings and occurances are history today that atleast has been buried with some good and bad deeds. Character assination, name-callings and similar related deformations wouldn't take us any step further in our struggle. I am not a politician but I think afterall, thats what democracy is all about in a political arena where choice, freedom and opinion comes into play and these of any man/woman should be respected. They can take the form sincerety, loyalty, honesty, integrety, flip-flopping or whatever one calls it, their choices can be questioned but judged and deserves to be respected. This is a very interesting debate in a positive form. ks |

There are a few things that perhaps need to be clarified. First , there is no indication that Mbarodi has switched to APRC. What is being speculated is that he is campaigning for an APRC candidate. Since NADD has no candidate in Nyamina , Mbarodi prefers to give his support to a candidate of his choice (but not a party of APRC). This scenario sometimes happens where there is complete freedom of political association. A near example would be the case of Joe Leiberman , the U.S. Democratic senator from Connecticut who by day is full fledge democrat and by night is a bedfellow to George Bush's conservative policies. Now do we have to agree with Mbarodi's actions , no. I personally do not think he is doing the right thing , but that is Mbarodi and we have a duty to respect him for exercising his right to associate with his chosen candidate. Ebra's argument that the Gambia is heading to one party system is far fetched in my view. Even Jammeh has no interest in a one party state. The odds are too much and i believ he is aware of that. Jammeh would rather prefer a weakened opposition that cannot dislodge him. No parasite intends to kill its host(a concept from biology). The disarray in the opposition camp is what benefits Jammeh rather than the death of the opposition. |

Bro, I just made that research. I found out that choice of voting should not be based on party, but the competent person to man the position. So for that been the case WAA supporting his fellow should not be victimized. One good turn deserves another. If his colleagues stood for him and his turn to pay back. If I were him I won't mind to go and campaign for him at political rallies, as far as am not contradicting my political idealogies or principles. Another prediction about the outcome of the NA elections. This time not more than 3 oppositions will have seats. Hamat and Seedia will win for sure. |

Nyarikangbanna , when did Mbarodi become a "beast" ? After he left the UDP ? I think you and Dibba , the former aide to Mbarodi are politically motivated to attack Mbarodi because he is a set back for UDP in Nyamina. It would be more credible if you had said all this that you claim to know about Mbarodi while he was in the UDP rather than now. Remember he was the number two in UDP until 2001 , and no body including you and Dibba objected to his character and integrity. Insulting elders ? Come on , that is frivolous . You see Mbarodi's position seems to be that "if not NADD then it might as well go to APRC , but UDP". This is why Darboe and Hamat need to understand that at all cost the opposition needs to unite against Jammeh. |

I know him whilst I was working with his buddy who was my junior. He was always in my office whilst in Banjul, when he visit his friend who was also a defeated UDP candidate in the By-election in Kiang.I remember WAA brought a drafted letter with UDP's letterhead seeking for assylum in Swiss. I typed the letter for the two. I still have the copies of the letters with me, including Kemeseng using UDP's letterhead in order to apply for assylum for his son who is currently in US. This is the type of politicians we have in Gambia. CHAMILLION. This is no fake is something very real. If WAA and Kemeseng are reading this they will obviously remember. It happened between 2001 and 2002.

Am always in the middle. I don't support no party, but I buy good moves, my choices are Jammeh, Halifa, Seedia, and Gomez. These are the Gambian politicians I put my trust on. |
