Yes, you have the right to freedom of expression and you just exercised it. Guess what? I will now exercise mine.... you're either drunk or gay. Jammeh or any other person's imbecile action does not justify a grown azzz man to come out here and spew nonsense and insults.

I was going to point out the sheer stupidity in your post but unfortunately, my Aku is not fluent. If you'd be kind enough to translate your post, i'd do you the favor of educating you on how you got the whole concept of freedom of expression twisted. Who knows, Moe may even chip in free of charge

I thank God for blessing me with a beautiful woman and a child I love more than anything in this world.

To Prince I will have to say this: You are showing homophobic tendencies in here by repeatedly saying dembish must be either drunk or gay. I think that is unfortunate.

Please accept my apologies Senegambia, I am NOT a homophobe and I don't intend to ever come accross as a homophobe. In fact, back in college, I had several lesbian friends who were members of the campus LGBT movement and we spent ours gossiping about their little ways...

I was just bothered by dumbish excruciating thoughts on "Jammeh's wet snake at night." His grossness made me throw up a little in my mouth.

On the other hand, i do have a very low tolerance for serial alcoholics.

Prince, we all make mistakes once in a while by saying stuff innocently just to be understood differently. I have got into trouble several times for it. Even though you are not homophobic some people might take you otherwise. I admire your courage for coming out and clearing the air at once. Just to reciprocate on your college experience, I want to say that I too have come into close contact with a "normal looking" lesbian couple through my lady. I got to know them well and understand the values that they stand for. They are the ones I am thinking as I write this. Thanks

Nah Moe, I'll pass this offer... I don't have a month of my life to waste on title-less men. A Prince like me should not devote time to insulting a bunch of nobodies.... I have a Principle to run.

[i] Alima comes from one of the finest and most respected/educated families in Gambia, best believe this union is not based on economical reasons. .

Apparently the Sallah family forgot to pass the same education to their daughter Alima!

There is simply no logic other than status and economic reasons for a well educated family to give away an under 20 year old to marriage with just a basic high school education!!!

Imagine what would happen to her in the next year when she starts having babies....

Imagine what would happen if Jammeh were to leave power unceremoniously and taken into custoday!!!

What would this 18 year old do with the rest of her life?? Depend on her parents?

What would happen if her Dad is booted out of his position by the professor???

Imagine all the responsibilities put on her shoulders with all those extended family looking up to her to safe their jobs, help their immediate relatives and oh my God the hype around Banjul!!!

It simply defies common sense that anyone would want to do this without status or economic conditions!!!

I can only wish Alima well in her life!!! She is an innocent girl put in such an awkward position. It sure is a dream come true for her and would be for many girls. Utimately, it is a mistake!!!

At least the Sallah Family waited till the age of 20, How old were your uneducated sisters when they got married Demba?. How old was your mother by the way when she married your father and don't feel insulted , these are legitimate questions and hopefully you don't lie. How old do you have to be in the Fulani tribe to be fit for marriage up country where you come from? The other thing Fulani's marry their nieces and first cousins which is worse than a 20 year old at legal age getting married to someone who they have no relations to. Is your wife your cousin Demba?............................................Peace

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Jammeh marrying as much wives as he like as long as he show some respect and accord his first wife the dignity she deserve as a lady in the public eye. You cannot do this by marrying a teenager eight years younger than your daughter. This is criminal. I will shoot any 45 years old male leering at my teenage daughter there and then and never show an ounce of remorse. There was me wishing that this was just another rumour. If Zainab Jammeh walk-out of her marriage then she has my full blessing. The President is treading on a fine line between paedophilia and age of consent. No woman deserves this public humiliation from her husband neither does a child from a father. This is pathetic.

The President taking a second wife is normal practice in Gambian culture. I think we should try to be objective and stick to opposing him on his policies. There are tons of Gambian men with multiple wives including my father. Will I do it no but I will not bash any man who does it and it is considered normal in his culture.

The D.O. has answered your enquiry sister:

http://observer.gm/africa/gambia/article/president-jammeh-marries-second-wife

"Ms Alima Sallah now goes by the title Lady Alima Yahya Jammeh. She is not to be addressed as the First Lady because according to protocols, there can only be one First Lady, and, in this case that is Madam Zineb Yahya Jammeh. This also serves as official notification to all diplomatic missions accredited to the country, our embassies abroad, countries around the world as well as friends and well-wishers."

Hi Karamba don't fret too hard! If you get your second or third wife, just let us know how we should address her? I'm sure we'll oblige you[:D!

Now what protocol do you suggest for the Gambia's Lady Alima? By the way congratulations Dr President Jammeh!

Peace

Lets put all the protocol garbage aside and call this thing what it truely is. There is nothing unusual in what the Sheikh has done. Furthermore, trying to pity the New First Lady is completely out of line. She deserves nothing less than every Gambians support and well wishes. Is it not possible that she loves the Sheikh? I am gonna be consistent here. The Sheikh like every other muslim has the right to marry up to four wives. If he can marry two more, more power to him.

To me she is a First Lady...lets call a spade a spade. How can we all start calling for justice between two wives when she is relegated to being 2nd Lady? If Zainab does not want to be a co-wife she can leave and not let the door hit her.

terangba and mansa - well said.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.
