Sista. You are hilarious. When you do the google search, at least check the content of the article first. You are embarrassing yourself. Last two links are referring historical information. The new york time articles are referring the information of a few centuries ago. All posters links are the portrait of slave from a few hundreds ago as well. For the first link, sex-slave, of course sex-slavery is happening all over. In Turkey too, but they don't blame others. The point is: DO NOT BLAME OTHERS, SLAVERY/SEX SLAVERY IS HAPPENING TO AFRICANS BY AFRICANS. Noooooooo one will feel sorry for you. You need to stand up for yourself and solve your own problem. Geeeeez.

Turk I am fortunate to have my liberty the reality is that there are people all over the world that don't have theirs!
I think you are missing the point here and are too deluded into thinking that its only Africans who have been enslaved and are enslaved. The reality is that slavery is happening to people across the Globe today in the North South East and West. Sex workers are enslaved in the richest cities in the world today and believe it or not even in your own country Turkey where the men are complaining about being sexually explioted by British Tourists. So Turk, even you in your Gene form cannnot take away those facts. Just check out the Turkish forums for yourself and be careful because you are falling off of your high horse of your superiority complex, which only goes to show that you haven't even got the capacity here to dessiminate information. You have plastered pictures trying to demean Africans tried to use genealogy to prove a point. There's no disputing that the white Turkish slave was a white woman, neither the Eastern European sex slaves are white people. Historical facts speak for themselves that slavery wasn't and isn't an African phonenonum that is a fallacy. European Chattel slavery goes back even further than that. Turks were slaves long before Africans were taken to an Ottoman Slave market. I put it to you to learn more about your own history than shouting all over the bantabaa about Africans enslaving Africans today when Europeans are still continuing to enslaving their own people today. Now tell me this do two wrongs make a right?
I for one know that slavery is wrong no matter whether its child slavery, sex slavery , Chattel slavery etc Human Beings have human rights and they have the right to have those rights protected. I'm not going to base the value of a human being by the colour of their skin you seem to do that every corner!
Let me just tell you this the same African slaves in the past brought to the forefront the whole concept of Human Rights on the slave plantations through their rebellions culminating in emanicipation. Those enslaved African in the Americas killed their masters in their beds, poisoned their food rebellion was the order of the day. It was Africans who liberated themselves, and as our liberation struggle continues it is we who will liberate and free up our continent to make it flourish in this Century. When we stop fighting and tearing each other down and start working together to build our nations up.
It is the next generation who will know that Africans are capable of being who ever they want to be without having to seek acceptance or permission from a white man to tell us how we should behave. It is the white children who will turn around and say we aren't bigots as they will know and accept that there is only own race the Human race, and will reject the lies that they have been miseducated with.
For as the world's resources get even scarcer they will come to understand that there is only one world. The planet Earth and they are the minority within that world who will have to learn to share its resources with the Majority of the world because in the future, the Majority of the world will not settle for second best.
They will be demanding that they have access to their own resources and will not allow others to come and expliot their resources without getting a substantial piece of the economic pie. So Turk, take your false concern about Africa and Africans and go and stick it were the sun don't shine! I suggest that you go check that man in the mirror and change his bigotted ways.
Peace

False concern! Bigoted way! Come again. People like you really is the reason for Africa is failing. I will put you and Karamba in the same category. You are a liability to Africa. In terms of politics you are on the opposite side. But you have one common. You blame everyone else, Arabs, Turks, 'turk', Europeans, Jammeh, Idi Amin, but yourself for the reason you fail. I need to expose people like you so people understand the obstacles for success. |

Yes, colonization was bad. Slavery was bad. Two were biggest crimes of humanity. Should there be some compensation? Yeah. But how, I guess that is the question we can debate for centuries and no one is going to come forward and pay compensation to Africa. Unless Africa can stand up and demand for the compensations.
No one can deny the role of Africans themselves slaving other Africans historically. And the link above is 'current' and 'live' event happening now. Who are the slaved sex workers? AFRICAN girls. Who are the clients? AFRICAN men? Who are the facilitators? AFRICANs. Now let us deal with this issue.
Short term:
- This is a crime so the issue has to be dealt with the security forces. - There are victims, there needs to be some social services for those who are victims of such crime.
Mid term:
Most times, security officers are part of this kind of crime, by tolerating. It is corruption. This is already disease in Africa and stop the public services completely.
The legislation. Internal and International legislation should be worked on. This crime can't be handled domestically. This is where African Union comes in. Interpol kind of organization that can deal with this crime internationally. Some kind of task force that can work internationally.
Social and Educative programs with the capability the nations have.
Long Term
Social and educative programs for public.
Improve wealth. That is the most critical reason for this crime happening. Lack of individual wealth are reason for the girls are taking this risk. Also, lack of collective wealth are obstacle to have social and educational programs. So, most of these problems happening in Africa due to lack of funds for social and education programs. This is not an easy solution.

Thanks MeMe for bringing this to our attention. There needs to be more public information across Africa about these slave camps. The Public need to be made aware of these deceptive practices. All children must be protected from this form of expliotation and the adults involved must face strong deterrients. Therefore AU and all the regional organisations within it need to agree to have harmonization laws in place to send out a zero tolerance message to these traffickers of life in prison meaning life in Prison with hard labour for such serious organised crime.
There should be no complacency for such serious crimes committed against children as societies are judged by how they take care of the most vulnerable. African children need to be protected against slavery and this abhorrent practice needs to be stopped. The perpetrator of such crimes need to made an example of in no uncertain terms as Every Child Matters.
