hi, on my last two trips i have seen a houe that house been abandoned. is there a way that i can find out who owns this or if it is for sale.

There is a government official in Brikama ...someone Darboe I think...he needs to be involved in transactions....also a lawyer. |

There is no house abandoned in the Gambia. A lot of the times, the said land might be in a dispute and hence developement is halted. Dont go near it to try to invest your money. That is my advice.
There is a lkelihood that the land is sold to two people. This easily happens to land held as a free hold or on traditional tenure. As for lease hold property, there is a registry and is very secure. Buy only a lease hold property in the Gambia if you are a foreigner beacuse there are more guarantees and you might not know the ropes yet. |

in Banjul you have the office of lands and surveys, there you can find out who are the real owners of a plot, also they can tell you if it is legal to build on, because many plots have no license to hold buildings roger |
