Twinky Nagging is the repetition of unpalatable truths" . Just for you Twinkly, I will call it a day, and go and destress with a nice cup of tea. But Twinky, I hope you are just as vocal if you witness ANY person constantly making gross unfounded statements about people- I will be looking out for your level of character on this one. |

Kobo, do you think it would polarise the subject, i thought it had done that already. Look at the beginning topic and read the last ones. I have not seen the connections.
I don't think so and did not direct anything negative against you. |

Kisley the situation has cooled down now, can't u just leave it.... There is no need to go on and on and on, and it's not fair to pick out a certain member and keep nagging about him.Show some character and leave it be please. If we carry on like this, we will soon see the admin close the subject.(which is understandable with all this bickering going on)
I agree with you. We need to progress and element of maturity. |

Having nice palatable Gambian dishes; "Mbahaal, Dohmohdaa, Super KanNjaa, Benachin" and "Attaaya" drinking are really cool for Gambia happiness. Peace and love! |

Babylon, there is racial divide here. The white lobbyist, Kiwi, is putting it strongly that u stick to them whities and not to them blackies. All is fun.
I have been away for a couple of days, therefore this late reply. If you are bored , please turn on.
I asked Bamba to explain a statement he made concerning a topic. He could not answer a simple question, actually he even denied making the sentence, instead he accused me of being ignorant of completely different topic, about which I had not uttered a word. As he did not not answer, I take it that it was something he just spitted out. Then, why donīt you say I donīt know what I meant?
Now he grips the most predictable argument, the r-word.
Ignorant and racist?
I taught myself to read from a history book at the age of three and a half, well before Bamba was born. I started to read a newspaper when I was five, and have been reading, listening and watching since then. Among other litterature I read African authors, both fiction and facts, art books and history and a lot of articles on the net. A few years ago I was a one of the arrangers of African Film Festival showcasting about 20 films from several African countries. The main aim was not pity Africans, on the contrary to wiew a brighter side. People I met were film directors from South Africa, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Algeria.
I cook Italian food, Lebanese food, African food
Father of my daughter is from a south American country. Her husband is from Tunisia. I have been there and are going there later this year. My work mates/friends are/has been from Poland, Algeria, Kongo, Turkey, Gambia and Mali. One of my friends is married to a Greek, some live or have children with Gambians. I used to do baby-sitting.
My connection to Africa started 15 years ago. I learnt to know a man from Mali, who was my work mate, and then one from Sudan. I also met a Gambian who I married. Though we are divorced we still see each other regulary, he is my best friend. His friends used to come to our place for dinner or for a chat.
I have travelled all over Europe including Russia and Turkey. I have also been in the Gambia a couple of times and visited places as Bakoteh, Sukuta, Brufut, Ghana Town, Gunjur, Kartung, Sifoe, Brikama, Barra, Albreda, Juffureh, Banjul, Wellington Street, New Primet Street, Buckle Street, National Museum, Banjul City Council, Serekunda, Latrikunda German, London Corner, Manjai Kunda, Faji Kunda, Kololi, Kotu, Fajara, Fajara War Cemetary, Abuko, Botanic Garden i Bakau, Katchically, Mamakotu Road and a reggae club somewhere in Bakau behind a curtain alongside a pitch dark alley.
To me, also people working at hotels and their families are real people, not only those living on the countryside. I have been invited to several of them for dinner or for a cup of tea as well as I have visited parents to Gambians living in Sweden bringing money and letters. People I know in the Gambia are Isatou, Abi, Yahya, Ousman, Sanna, Mohammed, Mamadou, Mariama, Fatou, Binta, Mousa, Sarjo, Baba, Lamin, Omar, Modou, Ismaila to name some.
When my own daughter was a newborn baby I started to send money each month to a girl in South Korea for her schooling. Now I support a girl in the Gambia and have been doing it for eleven years now.
Why am I here on the Bantaba? Of interest for Africa and the Gambia and for information.
Something I donīt do is approach people saying Oh I feel so sorry for poor Africans/am so sorry for how you are treated in this country. They would feel very awkward. Neither I ask what tribe thery are. Or tell them how things should be done in the Gambia, I leave it to Gambians.
Is this sign of ignorance? Racism?
I seldom dislike people but I do dislike those who nurture their small big self-esteem through sitting on somebody else. Sorry Bamba, you fit well in this pocket. Besides that Bambas outburst is ridiculous, itīs also cruel and offensive. (Loolu jooyi bukki la, not meaning myself.) Think before you spit next time. Itīs shameful to be a racist. To point out someone as a racist on no grounds at all is also shameful. I demand an apology from Bamba

Jambo, I thought u said u've left Bantaba. Has your plane not left Bantaba airport yet?
Some of u toubabs in Bantaba are very funny, U provoke dicussions and then withdraw blaming me, a ******, as being racist. I thought the world knows that whites have exclusive monopoly and patent over racism.
Jambo, I find it mostly difficult to get to the point of most of your postings. |

Bamba please dont use the n word. I am white but find it offensive for my black friends.
Any race against another can be racist...it isnt just a white/black thing. In uk there is racism between pakistanis and indians for example. |
