Efry Mbye (Everybody Mbye) has received a brand new vehecle and a cash amount of 10,000 from Chairman Jammeh, the Gambian President, as publicly announced. Will Efry Mbye pay tax on this generous windfall? He should I think, since all income including gifts must be taxed. The Gambia's Income Tax Department should send a letter to Mr. Mbye immediately demanding an immediate payment of the taxes due on his windfall. Also, the National Assembly should investigate the source of the gifts issued to Mr. Mbye, but that might be a tall call considering the overwhelming APRC majority...
