Am sorry to say that Bamba I do appreciate your comment but its not helpful enough until Dalton1 clarifies. Next time just step in and clarify rather than asking me my state of mind. It puzzles me further. Anyway nice day to you.

I may try but I cannot talk in parables. I like "hard talk" when it comes to politics.

Hi Dalton, can you help? Not about poems, but re a speech made by the President YJ around two years ago, maybe July 2004. In that speech he referred to 'better husbands for the Gambian women.' I have tried hard to find it in various archives, but now turn to yourself, because you were around at that time, and sometimes pull out the unexpected.

Sab, here is a good link to the search, under archives on Jammeh's speeches. www.statehouse.gm i will scan it myself, and will bring it up upon recovery.

From the poem you noted, the silence of the guns will enable a peaceful world. I wonder if weapons will ever vanish ? first time seeing the poem.

Thanks Dalton, I have already used the achives you stated, and read through so many speeches I made myself feel sick. But it will surface again, if only for the outrage it caused at the time.
Regards, sab.....

Where is Ebou Jallow currently residing ? Is he working for the Jammeh regime , or is it his opinions that has reversed in favor of Jammeh ? What is Jammeh's (APRC) feelings about Ebou Jallow?
What seems clear to me is that both Ebou Jallow and Jammeh's utterances (statements) cannot be relied upon. They are both greedy , opportunistic , and parasitic individuals who arguably do not love their country.
Ebou Jallow 's name , just as many others in the APRC, should remain in our books for future prosecution.I sincerely hope that they will face the "blind princess" of justice soon.
Thanks.

The poem is great Dalton. Poems I belief are meant to be ambigeous. They give you the opportunity to reflect on yourself and possibly redeem yourself and ask for forgiveness. As the saying goes " when you free a young calf it runs to its real mother (translated. So as you read through the lines you can imagine who this person could be. One could identify so many people that fall under that category. By the time you read to the end you already know who is the culprit.

The culprits are clearly identified here. Whatever the motives of the Ebou Jallows are, they are a shame to society. They will live and die trying to fit in. Can you belief the humiliation and lost of self esteem running into these people's daily lives trying to regain the trust and confidence of the very people they betrayed?

They can never fit in any group and constantly live in fear and degradation. This is why some people commit suicide because it is better to die than to live in such cases.

In my language Fula there is a saying that goes " Wonnaa koo maayee tann yurr mee Knee" translated: Symphaty is not only for the death, but also for some people who are still alive but literally death inside. If you don't find a reason to live, then life has no meaning. One should repent and ask for forgiveness from the almighty. That is the only way their soule can be save. These people will go down in history as the greatest loss to humanity. God bless the humble.

Baldeh,
