Njogu come back!
The poem below is an open invitation to Njogu, a desperate fellow in our society who is being isolated by the society, pushed him to accepting some other form of tyrannical life. There is a growing need for Gambians to realize the difference between people out of their minds and people acting on what they believe. The case for Njogu is a serious one, a century liar, a thief and a traitor of human conscience. The poem is addressed specifically to Njogu, and will serve as a lesson to other Gambians showing signs of hypocrisy in our society. Njogu is gone too far these days, I appeal to Gambians to welcome him back, It is not his wish to be on the enemy’s side, He lost his sword truly.
He decorated the paper with the peaceful white doves, He writes as if paid a salary; but the book cover is not the judgment of the book contents, He writes as if it is some truth; Boy, what you get out of arrogance? Click on any single bird; that marks your entry to hellfire and bad luck.
An ambitious child turned dictator’s aide, He sings and dances by a tone he don’t like, He dreams of a palace never for him, He praises loony “Y” 24/7.
Njogu, please come back! Tell us where the 30 million naira is, You know it will haunt you for ever, Accountability and transparency will one day be.
Njogu, didn’t you spot the killers of koro? Njogu, didn’t you run away for your safety then? Njogu, what did you tell the world press then? Njogu, so how come you are a looser?
I know Gambians frustrated you, Some belittled you; others insulted you, Many ignored you; others cursed you, The genuine warned you to be careful.
It is true that you are making history not in your favor, Think of the admirable Njogu you were in the streets of Banjul, Now, you stripped naked all that respect and love, I hope common sense guides you now.
Njogu, think of your family that you will never see; as much as jammeh rules, Njogu, think of your gone mates; the late patriotic soldiers all killed, Njogu, think of the ongoing political trauma; tribalism and nepotism, Njogu, think of the student martyrs; April will ever be remembered.
Njogu Jarjou, come back! We know you get high; put your intoxicants aside for a moment, Don’t be frustrated; and don’t loose your mind further, All we ask for is for you to work on yourself.
Jammeh laughs at you, you should know better, If he is giving you money, you should reject it, If he promised you a position will be a trap for your head, If he pats you on the back, he is fooling you.
Njogu, you lost your pride and human dignity, You reduced your self to an ***** of our time, You accepted to be a griot of our time, Njogu, even boy-parrot and girl-parrot are better than you.
We know you are not the killer of Koro; but the thief of the thirty million naira, We know you are not the killer of Deyda; but a destitute liar of a century, We know you are out of your senses; perhaps some tati-garab to heal your oblongata, We know you don’t support loony Y’s agenda; feeding on Gambia’s tax payers’ money.
Now, do yourself a favor; once and for all, Shave your head and repent, Ask God and Gambians to forgive you, Join the society you were once in.

Kobo, Bamba crowned it all in one-the trend. We are peaceful in this bantaba, so we avoid inviting outside battalions by making things direct. Your literature is excellent kobo. Kobo, I expect a poem from you next- you owe me one !
Characters: Loony Y can be only one, derived from Galleh's "angry laughter", General Loony. That can be only Jammeh.
Boy-parrot, the parrot as we all know in our society is a talkative bird-with or without sense. The case in here is the ordinary life bird is even way better than the individual. There are many of his type within the Jammeh administration, but this comes back to only one, I also called him boy-mali sometimes, where is believed he hailed.
Girl-parrot, this is the daughter of a renowned late politician, who is also with you in this forum, and any other fora.
Njogu- There cannot be two. In the poem, I put his life to an observation. When he first joined Gambians in fora, everyone listened. Sooner or later, people realized his inconsistencies. He was insulted and character assassinated, as a result took to the only way, back to the old friend. But Njogu knows that he is not with loony. The bigger question is will Gambians forgive him for the 30 million dollars he stole? He very well told us episodes of murders in the Jammeh administration. I believe he is drowning in something that he doesn’t believe. I also believe when he ask for forgiveness from God and Gambians, he will be rescued.
In a nutshell, we cannot see him drown. Lets stretch our hands to open the gates for him to come back to us.

I can see a parallel in Ebou jallow or Ebou Bobb as the AFPRC called him when he supposedly ran away with money intended to buy food for gambians during the sanctions.
It seems he has forgotten all that. His character was attacked and even his parentage. It appeared in the front pages of the AFPRC magazine. He must be very brave to come to these people. I have noticed that sometimes there is a fine line between bravery and madness. Is he guilty as accused or is he trying to save what is left of him. Certainly Gambians need a closure and the truth about the millions. |
When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always. |

| Bobb is a nasty insult to his Jallow. It's widely believed that, Mr Bobb, a onetime bigwig in Jawara's regime is his real father. But on the other hand, how many kids are not their father's kids? |

| Anyone's guess. Like BOb Marley said, if night should turn into day all of a sudden, many people will run away. |

Kondorong,
You should be our teacher, i mean myself and Kobo. Sheriff Bojang ran the details too-Daily observer, though he said he is from one Jarjou. Bamba, any other name for a spade ?
That's his biggest battle, the thirty million. In islamic law, you need some withnesses to punish someone doing adultery, but if the person himself confesses to the act, it is punishable-that's enough. The story of this shahabah (deciple) that confessed committing adultery, and the prophet (pbuh) ordered for his punishment-stone to death. The brother himself said it openly, that the thirty million was with instructions from Jammeh to be deposited for sharing.
I honestly believe he is stucked. He only wish never a change, because it means the same for him. We are beyond that era, where people who stole money are refered to as "ki defa gaw." Also, he wasn't given a chance to be with us-i mean his own deeds haunting on him. Word is that he wanted to be the chairman of STGDP in the beginning-i don't know how true ? He would have sold it for a little airco. |

Thanks. I think there are better teachers on the forum and you included. I will sit under your shadows and take comfort from the knowledge that radiates around you. That is good enough for me.

I am better at the cattle. I wish you see me milking a cow from the right side, squatted on the ground with a little calabash in between my thighs, and two flows of milk fluids coming from the teats, reddish-white. Yes, a lot more like you here. I wish we learn the lessons in the offering here. One would think of getting awarded a degree in cyber space some day.
Back to our poem, what I wonder most, how come he forgets so soon? For he said, in his own words without a whip or electric wire sucking on him that he knows the killers of Koro ? How come, he supports back those monstrous fellows then? Is it true, he saw them or not? Something is not right. His inconsistency within a short period of time is very well worrying. Other fellows said he could be victim of the kanillai medicine, which jammeh blessed with some holy verses. I believe he is being given huge amount of money, a price for his integrity. The truth will be out soon! Others said he is lobbying for Uncle Bammi’s position as an ambassador in DC? Isn’t that some strange news? Omar Faye made his place back to the palace, and Tamsir Jallow (former speaker of the parliament) is back with them-is it true? One should live a life of 'principle'.
happy friday to all !

When was the last time you drank JACKEH OR SAMBA HAKUNDO.
Principles have now been left in the dictionary gathering dust. This is our problem. Gambians are very selfish and i have found it very hard to confide in anyone these days. The same people you will share your secrets will be the ones that will throw you to the wolves.
They all have made 360 degree u-turns. This is why Junkung said that he has 1 million Gambians to choose from. He is right for this one. Because there is no shortage of sycophants ready to kill and torture for him. And even with all the consequences that follow those perpetrators, many have become blinded with promises of riches they may never live to enjoy.

There is a complete breakdown of social values at the moment in the country that has led to this scenario. We must reflect seriously on this issue and try to find ways of rectifying the situation.
I think there is a ceasation of social values, believes, and more over Islamic values and teachings being taught to the present generation in the homes that is rubbing us of our moral conscience. We have to go back to teaching and promoting human rights both to the young and current generation to restore some decency into society. We must learn more to respect each others right to live as we deemed ourselves to have a right to live.
What is currently happening in our country is unprecendented and it indicates a sign of moral bankruptcy and must be arrested before it is too late.
The elders and particularly the religious leaders should intervene with objectivity and purpose. There is everything to gaine in trying to avert catastrophy and every thing to loose in doing nothing.
When it first emerged that there was an attempted coup some leaders decided to condemn it. Now that there is all kind of grapevine of yaya killing, dismissing and detaining people, no one is saying anything as if all those victimes of jammeh's heavy-handedness are not worth anything. This cannot be right. |

Thanks fellows. Long time Kondorong, though i drink bottled milk all the time, now you laugh ! i look forward to it soon.
Talibeh, i very well buy ur sentiments on "moral bankruptcy", but please note that some of our elders and societal heads are the very crooks undermining unity, democracy, transparency, civilization and etc...I get out of mind to see imams getting insulted by jammeh time, and again. Let me die poor, or with starvation, i cannot afford to be insulted and disgraced in front of people. it is part of my dua' every day. Human dignity must be respected. Did you ever in your life believed in seeing SM Dibba making a sujud (prostration) to Jammeh on a national TV, eventhough he said he wasn't part of what he is being accused of, atleast not that extreme.
Trust me,now, it's not about age, status in the society, educational status etc... it's about common sense, and lineage of integritty and humbleness. The prophet and shahabas (pbut all) never went to any formal universities or colleges, they were with wisdom, most educated, applied wisdom and common sense, and preserved dignity and good governance-True democracy is found in islam.
Lava, i tell you, he needs help. Infact, i want him to read the poem and sleep over it, and may be some heaven angels will inspire him to make progress towards light. To be trapped in such a situation is a hard one. |

| I missed a lot folks. Thanks to all postings and please allow me to express my opinions in any critical form. I do assume some responsibilities for being critical and misunderstood. However it is done for the benefit of knowledge and to open up more clues in any topic, statement, expression, word or item posted for review in the Bantaba for the benefit of the public. We create the scenarios from our comments and questions are expected to follow. Remember we are at different levels of intellect, comprehension, potentials, strenghths and weaknesses. The poem is great but its only through Dalton1's clarification that made me to know the subject matter and characters being depicted. Thanks to everybody. |
