Toubab, a manager in TAX, Steffen Normann Hansen quotes a popular saying that "the money is derived in from the front door".
The following is an English translation of todays presentation about a tax research here in Denmark: http://jp.dk/uknews/article1690330.ece
Individuals honest when filing tax returns Published 12.05.09
The tax authority SKAT has found that individuals are generally more honest than companies when declaring financial information.
A new study from the SKAT tax authority has found that the public are a fairly honest bunch when it comes to filing their returns, with only one percent purposefully withholding information from the authority.
SKAT examined the 2006 tax returns of 22,000 residents and companies to check their tax habits. While the individuals were mainly honest, seven percent of companies were found to have wilfully deceived the tax authority when filing their annual claims.
‘The report confirms our belief that most of the errors occur because of a lack of information or understanding of the rules,’ said Steffen Normann Hansen of SKAT.
Residents in Copenhagen were the most honest on their tax forms, while those in Mid and South Zealand lagged a little behind. However, there was a bigger discrepancy between companies. Almost five percent of companies in North Jutland filed dishonest claims while nearly 11 percent were found guilty in Copenhagen.
SKAT stressed that the study did not include undeclared work where the person received the money ‘off the books’.

Yes, I have seen about the scandal.
Here is another report of what the Danish Tax Authority SKAT is up to..
Tax cheats caught by authority Published 19.05.09 From: http://jp.dk/uknews/article1698390.ece
Data from foreign credit cards held by Danish residents has resulted in the tax authority securing 300 million kroner in unpaid tax.
Tax authority SKAT has netted 300 million kroner from tax cheats with foreign bank accounts.
Since 2004, the authority has investigated 150 cases of Danes, or Danish companies, that have bank accounts in foreign countries or who have abused the system requiring tax declarations if living in Denmark.
The cases have involved the use of foreign credit cards in Denmark and stem from the National Tax Board allowing SKAT to collect data from the electronic payment service company, PBS.
‘We are involved in an ongoing investigation concerning the account withdrawals from these people’s foreign credit cards. We can see that there are often fairly large amounts which are hidden from us in this manner,’ said Ove Christensen of SKAT.
The tax authority initially began investigating credit cards where payments or withdrawals of more than 500,000 kroner were made, before moving to look at cards that were used in countries known to be tax havens.
SKAT intends to follow-up on some 400 cases, which it believes will result in 500 million kroner in unpaid tax.
In addition to those trying to cheat the tax system, SKAT is also looking at more sinister tax data.
‘It is of course naturally relevant to investigate if the hidden money stems from illegal activities. A number of cases have already been passed on to the police and prosecutors for further evaluation,’ said Christensen.
