Some readers of Bantaba in Cyberspace may have noticed that I hate politics,the following piece relates to the UK.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mps-expenses/5294635/MPs-expenses-the-cabinets-key-claims.html

Snippet;
Lord Mandelson, the Business Secretary, claimed thousands of pounds to improve his constituency home after he had announced his resignation as an MP. He later sold the property for a profit of £136,000.

Very nice if you can get the taxpayer to pay,the "rules" are of course made by the members themselves.I wonder what would happen to ordinary folk if they did these things to their employeers? Yes,you have it,they would lose their job at the very least and maybe end up in court.

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.

If we want British politics to be financial sound I think we have to pay the politicians much more as their basic salary. If we want to attract the best intellect in the country then we need to offer salaries on a par with similar high level jobs.

Having heard samples of the stupid and imoral claims MPs put in I wonder if it would be cheaper to just put them all up in a Premier inn when they are in london?!!!

I am a teacher, as alot of you will be aware.

Not only dont I claim anything...I actually subsidise my school to the tune of an average of £15/£20 a week!!! I buy books, toys, puzzles, food for snack food for food technology lessons, birthday presents, prizes, food treats etc etc....

I have a school lunch which I have to pay for..etc....

I really wish we could get some MPS with a good moral compass.....
When I voted for Tony Blair I thought that is what we were getting.... But Blairs Babes seem just as bad as anyone.....

Im very dissillusioned!!

Yes. They have deliberately and greedily bent the principles of expenses to feather their nests whilst passing laws that make the rest of us suffer. Greedy, grubby, arrogant little people.

I smell sacrificial lamb. But those at the top of the power chain will protect themselves, as ever. Will we see any of these fraudsters in court? They will wriggle out, as ever. And when the people stand to protest, they invent more powers to smack us down and deny us a voice.

The public mood in the UK is ugly.
