If you mean me, only one way, the way the Prophet tells is the only way. |

Hi 2bab,
May be I should explain further not actually meaning in the "gay" sense. I asked out of curiosity, because 2bab in our local languages can be masculine or feminine. I didn't know whether to address you sister or brother. Like among us, Dalton can be only masculine. Serenita is feminine, etc…please excuse any inconvenience caused by this humor.
Thanks, D |

Here is joke on my tribe -the Fulbe.
It is this belief that 2babs are endowed with unforseen kwowledge/mind-reading. One of our uncles was visiting Bronx, NY. His name was Sorrey. before he left, his father advised him that once you go Wurri Sorreh, becareful of 2babs because they can see what is in your mind (mind-read or cleo-type thing.) Sorreh took a note of it. By coincidence, he arrived in Newyork, and as he was busily walking, a 2bab accidentaly step foot on him. The 2bab in apology went "Sorry!" Sorreh went into astonishment, crying aloud -Baba-enn wowlanikam!!, 2bako na yagii horeh -meaning my dad told me that 2babs can mind read. "How did he know my name?" Sorreh wondered.
Thanks, yj

Thanks,
Dalton1 No inconvienence caused by your posting,I was baffled by your words the meaning of which I could only take one way,the answer I gave reflected that, however do not worry if your real question should have been, "2bab are you a man or a woman?" then I would have given a different answer. I am sure that you would agree that it has always been an unwritten rule on Bantaba in Cyberspace that members should be able to choose whatever name they wished. I like you am sometimes very curious as to the gender and meaning of the names(if there is one)of the posters on bantaba.

There you are then, your posting is an excellent example of the use of words the meaning of which can be misunderstood by those who read them,or in the case of your joke hear them. (Don't worry its OK )

Thanks 2bab, and you gave me a chance to explain myself. Speaking in riddles is a problem at times. You are right, one can choose any name here. 2bab in itself is a likeable name and I do not know its origin. May be one of these days, we will hear from the history students.
