For now, I would recommend a place in Batokunku or Tujereng; the former is right by the beach, and the latter is probably going to be the next Brusubi. I do understand that SSHFC has a layout there, Tujereng, that is.
Ramou.
Romou can you tell me how will you do, not to pay D100k for the plot at Jabang? If you know anyone selling at that price, please help me. THANKS |

Eve,
I don't know anyone per se that is selling at D100k, but rather meant that a property that size in Jabang shouldn't be worth D240k. Also, because I prefer to buy somewhere along the coastal road (Brufut, Tanjeh, Batokunku, Tujereng, sanyang, Gunjur or Kartong), I wouldn't take a second look at Jabang even if the asking price is reasonable. By the way, my cousin informs me that he wouldn't buy land in Yoro Bawol or accept it even if given free of charge regardless of its wonderful people and cows, for the simple fact that it is too far away from the coast:-)
I guess it is a matter of location, location and location for me when it comes to buying and should be for everybody else. Consequently, I'd like to see the land, neighborhood, etc before there is any exchange of my hard-earned cash! So, why not just wait until you are in the country to see for yourself? In the meantime, you can have your friends check out a few places to identify potential plots that may be of interest to you when you visit. At the end of the day, it is your home we are talking about here; so why let somebody choose that for you? Just some thoughts.

Whats going on with Yoro Bawol. No one is forcing you to buy land there. Besides, as the would be Alkalo of Yoro Bawol, we do not intend to give any of our land even for a million.
We are happy being far from the coast and can do without CHALO and all the congestion therein.
This is what we are trying to fight to end. Is Yoro bawol so desolate that even free land is not accepted? I think your that statement or perhaps your cousin's statement is seriously unsolicited. I take offence in my village being described this way. |

kondorong ,nice that you are back . this is typical gambian mentality . if not the over crowded greater banjul area nowhere else .this is wrong . some gambians have never even pass brikama yet they are all over the world . we should be happy to live where ever we can have the basic necesities of life not that it most be coarstal area. for this negative coment ,i will consider selling my property in gunjur beach area. infact it is becoming over crowded there . my neighbour in sukuta village is selling water to people now because nawec can't do the job .he is a sarahule man , he sell the water per galon .sarahules are into all things business .this is good. for them no politics ,just money heey. |

You are most welcome! I'll be home in late April, and hope to get a good deal on a plot in Sanyang or Gunjur. I understand that summer is the best time to get a good deal, and winter is just chaotic!

Kondorong,
Please accept my heartfelt apologies for berating your village. Be rest assured that it was meant in jest hence the smily. I guess it was just a poor taste of humor at your expense. My apologies, once again.
Have a nice day!

SANTANFARA,
My apologies to you too. Are you serious about selling your property in Gunjur? I think you are overreacting Bro/Sis(?)! All the same, please hook a sister up! Like Eve, I am also interested in acquiring land in Sanyang or Gunjur. Don't think I can afford a plot in Sanyang, but should be able to buy a 50x50 plot in Gunjur (would I be able to get one close to the beach for D200,000?). Please note that I am not a cheapskate, but rather financially challenged at this time. Please advise.
Have a good day!

No. We are not cheap as others think we are. We may be poor but not ready to be prey for tycoons. You will pay what our cows are worth. |
