I have been recommended to go to the ecolodge near gunjur to get ideas so I am kind to the village environment.
For examle they have composting toilets, not flushing ones. Apparently flushing toilets can alter the level of the water table for the whole village.
When I eventually build a house (GUNJUR OR BRUFUT?) I want it to have the minimum imact on the ecology of the village whilst still providing a comfortable home. ANy advice? |

Hi I am very interested..why did you decide on Gunjur....I have an offer of land there, but htought it was too far from airport etc.....
But it is close to developments on senegalese side......
I have been quoted at brufut 10,000 for land and 10,000 for building 3 bed house..... Half price of taf...but still seems expensive.
Do you have firm in Gambia or do you use gambians?
I am very interested to learn more from you.
Email dearnleyfamily@hotmail.com
How many weeks a year are you in Gambia?
Many thanks, Bev |

2bot defiantely interested, sharon will email you directly thank you for the hint. Bev I agree sometimes the price of land seems silly, I was asked for 15,000, for a plot deep inside bilijalo. Can anyone advise have the prices settled down. On my last trip there in Feb I felt is was a bit of land grab/rush everyone panicing that the land would run out. |
