Fellow Gambians,
How can a whole nation accept being fooled in day light? Yahya Jammeh will never be civil enough to accept that Gambians prefer democracy to this senseless greedy conduct. The truth is that Gambians have to take all the blame. It is still nice to let one person play his wicked heart and hand with everyone pretending to be fine. Know it or not, the way Gambians think of matters is not what Yahya is thinking. For Yahya, he has succeeded by placing heavy weapons in the hands of his fellow Jola bandits he calls an army. Next he fools around calling for elections to baffle others. Now he assumes he has his heavy weight thrown on all of you. Frankly, this man is thinking in a different way. Before you know how bad everything goes, your generation is gone. Some times it is fitting to count that Gambians deserve this because of the serious pretends. Welcome to night life in Kanilai, free food, free drink, and free transport. |

Your opening phrase "Fellow Gambians" reminds of Jawara. I hope you were not his speech writer |

| The opposition should just boycott the coming local government elections and let him have it all for himself. Why have elections when he can fire the elected representatives? |

The consequences of this amendment can only bring about serious decline in peoples power and strengthened the bull's case to takeover our sovereignity. I agreed with Karamba, Gambians are to be blamed for this. In my view, accepting this kind of polical hijack for any longer without collective popular objection and outright boycott to this regime will be the biggest single betrayal of our generation. There is need for swift and sweeping changes in out political stands from all sectors, the oppositions, civil service, media and legal associations and the entire citizenry in the diaspora to get out acts together inorder to avoid a catastrophic political turmoil that Jammeh is selfishly driving us through.
Keeping mute with this situation can only expose our Gambian weakness further and we have to only blame ourselves considering the current political and social conditions we're facing at home and abroad. The facts are there for us to make that self assessment and look into what we already knew about this man's self-centred political manipulation of our peoples rights. Lets come out of this self-denial and deception. Our collective action is becoming long over due and for that matter far below expectation and the only outcome will be collective doom for our generation and that is going to be a total dowturn for even the next generations to follow us. They shall never forgive us. |

Kondorong,
I have a great passion for Gambia and seeing a whole country dragged to the ditch is a concern. No, I am not one of Jawara's speech writers. It is a coincidence mine reads like their's. This bandit Yahya Jammeh is abusing Gambian tolerance beyond the norm. We are looking at a diametrically opposite picture with Jammeh. He thinks his idols are fulfilling RIGHT by him possessing Gambia and all that therein. Gambians are still in the 70s and 80s when politics was only a matter of pass-go. Here we are now, with a dear price to pay. Deep in the narrow mind of Jammeh, he knows that the game he plays is not sustainable. It does not matter to him so long as he opens the doors to steal, and to let his associates steal. To them, this is an end to their poverty and degradation. For now, they have all the wherewithals of life that their whole ancestry could not attain. Even if there is war to consume the whole of Gambia, Yahya and his club of bandits believe they have gained access to the means of beating poverty and destitution. That is their reason for taking up arms and settling around the thick bushes of Cassamance Kanilai. Now that they have robbed the nation this far, the next level is to cause war and hunger for rest of Gambia. That is the current thinking of Jammeh. Let anyone stand to deny that, the floor is open, caps in the ring. |

Dalton1,
"I will make poverty history in Gambia", says Jammeh (Taiwan-December 2007). This confirms the notion that for him to ascend from the destitution of abject poverty to the murky clouds of being filthy rich with dirty money makes him set the bells ringing that Gambia is sweet. "Politics is a dirty game"- (Jammeh, Gambia, July 1994) "I am not a politician, I am a servant of the people.........." Good Lord, save Gambia from the cruel ruins of evil. |
