I've had the week from hell. Family death, work problems (fascist style managements tactics) and the rain goes on and on.

I try to be sensible and grown up most of the time but ....

Is there anyone there who can give me a cyber hug please?

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of a family member.

Due is to Allah that which He has taken away and His is whatever He has given. With Him, everything has an appointed tern; so have patience and seek reward from Him.

Beyond every hard experience lies the prospects of joyful relief. Life is a progression of events in transition. Even in the most hopeful moments of pleasure, the joy of heart is snatched away by sudden flash of fear and depression. Equally, in cases of sad moments, blooming flowers of hope set their petals. May the soul of your departed and the others rest in eternal peace.

Lily, as for facist style management, do you have to stay, if yes put your head up and ignore them, anything said while you are in this frame of mind could go against you.
if no, move on make a plan. WHAT HELPS ME IS TO WRITE IT DOWN, by putting it on bantaba will help. STAY FOCUSED.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down, Lily. It is hard when life deals you so many blows at the one time (or in succession)and it becomes more difficult to keep your spirits up. My grandmother used to say that it's all part of life's rich tapestry ... which is quite nice but I myself know how it feels when you feel like your 'tapestry' is starting to unravel.

Try to remember that this will pass and the sun is bound to shine again soon

Sorry for your Great loses and May Allah bring him/her in his right hand and lets rest in peace. its him (Allah)who gives live and is the only one taking it back on its pointing time, remember we're all here for passing time easy or hard ,and no one would escape from it no matter how higher or lower one might be.
Be strong and hold on to the line you may lost your loves one but not yours for that reason you most go on, probable your loves one that you had lost will tell the same.
After any hard time there will be easy one and that's what I am wishing you.

Lily, please accept my deepest sympathy on your loss and all the other problems.

Following a loss, it may be very difficult to remember to care for oneself as one would normally do. Please focus on the basic survival needs for the body - eat, sleep and exercise - this is especially needed after a life changing event with death.

With the weather - well, This Is England - lets enjoy it when it is nice and get on with it when it is glum!!! Its been horrible in the past week, with all the flooding and strong winds, but we have to live on.

Bring the smiles back

Lily I was once very very depressed. I had alot of advice, but the best thing I ever read was dont give up hope. I was so depressed I had NO HOPE. ie almost suicidal, but I read even if you have no hope, there is always hope of hope. I wrote that down and read it every morning when I got up.

If you are seriously depressed this is my personal advice:

1. Try to eat well.
2. Don't drink alcohol.
3. Listen to uplifting music.Sing. Dance.
4. Sleep at regular times (even if it is less time , stick to a routine).Stay off the bed in the day time. Try to do soemthing active.eg swim, walk the dog, gardening.
5. Try to still see friends.
6. See your doctor and take anti depressants. Possibly have some therapy.

Finally let me give you the pray that comforts me. I am not religious, but as a humanist I still find great comfort in these words.

Prayer of ST Francis of Assisi

Lord make me an instrument of thy peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that
I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we
are pardoned, and it is in dying
that we are born to eternal life.

I love this prayer, because I believe in action and helping others.
To be an instrument of peace is a good cause.

I hope this may offer some consolation to anyone having difficult times.

But remember all you are feeling is part of the greiving process.

Life may feel bad at the moment but that will be relatively fleeting and life can be good again.
