Not sure what else to say except remember how all your friends in The Gambia keep on smiling no matter what life throws at them (no I don't know how they do it either).
In 2006 my long long Gambian friend was unlawfully killed . He died the day I arrived at his compound to see him after 3.5 years.(I was going to surprise him) Then something else and something else and something else happended.
It all rained down at me at once.
I think people could feel my vulnerability and were horrible to me- I hadn`t the energy to fight back !
I spent the past 16 months grieving, not going out, lost all hope etc. then all of a sudden the sun has started shining everywhere.
Believe me, ups and downs happen in life.Just take it a day at a time.
I must add my two cents Lily to all the love you already received from bantaba fans. Please always remember that sometimes we are tested in life. Our strength and weaknesses are put to test to see how strong we are. You must always remember that you control your own destiny. Not a single person can determine your success or failure.
Your state of mind and beliefing in yourself is probably your best bit. Learn from anything that you experience in your life and prepare to face the next challenge with an open mind and determination to overcome.
You are absolutely stronger than you think you are otherwise you would have given up instead of sharing with your fellow human beings. Please hold your head high, be deliberate and have fun in everything you do.
Best of luck and may the lord bless the decease's soul. Amin!!!
