Rather than discuss all the disadvantages of FGM from a western womens point of view, I would rather ask:
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES TO THE WOMEN OF BEING CURCUMCISED?
AFTER CURCUMSICSION ARE YOU ABLE TO ENJOY SEX?

| My position on Female Circumcision is clear, likewise my position on FGM. I am not defending FGM and neither is the State House Imam. What I and the State House Imam are defending is Female Circumcision. I believe it is better we have an honest and open debate so we may lay this issue to rest once and for all. We know your views and mine, but it seems we do not know that of the circumcised women on this forum. Let them speak up! |

As far as am concern, we have done justice to this topic academically and from experts, learn alot, gathered & compiled lots. Therefore there is no need to intrude into PRIVACY AND PERSONAL ISSUES TO ENJOY SEX!

Surely it is an important factor to know if a woman can still enjoy sex?
If you had a daughter and were considering this would you still do it if the answer from older women was that they couldnt enjoy sex?

This topic isnt about sex, but about FGM. I think it is VERY important and Kobo telling me to do whatever doesnt alter that.
I am NOT asking for any DETAILS of anyones private sex life, just wanting to know if women who have experienced FGM can orgasm.
Perhaps there is a doctor online who can answser this if individual Gambian women dont want to write about their experience.
Kobo are you saying it doesnt matter? Or isnt important? Or just that you dont want it discussed?!
This topic is NOTHING to do with me and sex. I have not experienced FGM. I am complete.
I dont discuss my sex life with anyone in any detail. I discuss RELATIONSHIPS..but it is two different things. I am a very private person and what happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom. Kobo you seem to have a strange impression of me. |

May I ask as I assume you are uncircumcised?
Do you enjoy sex just because of not being circumcised or was it because you do it with some one you very much love having sex with example your husband or partner?
I have said I had previously had sex with both and I can assure you I definately don't know the difference as far as enjoyment is concern.
My point of correction for my brother kobo, is please try hard never to swear of use faul language how ever dissatisfied you might be with some one's view point because if what you campaign for is true, we all want to create a society in our country where all would be entitled to their views.

I said I am complete ie not circumcised.
A man that has had sex with circumcised women cant speak for them and say they enjoyed it. I want the women to speak up for themselves.
I have spoken to alot of Gambian women who had it done to them, it wasnt their choice. They wish they had the strength to stand against it for their own daughters, but they dont because of social pressures.  |
