The saying that; we never know the true value of what we have until we lose it, is a practical reality which, history repeats over and over. Below is another testimony to greatness. The letter was written by Former Ambassador and renown writer Essa Bokarr Sey. Hauled from the freedomnewspaper...

That is just the opinion of a single private Gambian citizen, and I am sure he is entitle to it but that those not and will not make your Ayatollah to be what he is not. Please accept my condolence anyway.

May his political career rest in perpetual peace

politics is not about life and death ,it should be about having the willingness and courage to want good for once country and for the betterment of her people .Halifa is one who have the interest of gambia at heart ,i do some times disaggree with his methods but regardless the man is a touch stone for our Gambian politics and even the blind man knows about that (yaya) the reluctant democrat. halifa is use to being in the side line and he even performs well . he will be back ,and may be gambia will attain some political maturity by then . a legend never dies ,they go to rest. the man is only 50 at most ,so a long way to go.by the way i do not worship him ,he is a man and some times may make mistakes like every body.

Halifa is one who have the interest of gambia at heart

Me too. You see, that is not anything special. So many thousands have that same interest at heart.

Thanks

You have the interest of Gambia at heart??? you must be kidding. You have said it verbally over and over, but certainly your actions proof otherwise. You are on record dividing and tearing apart the best hope our nation ever dreamed of - Unity to unseat the dictator..

Guess what? Am glad Halifa stood on the way of some selfish individuals like you. Many in your camp wanted to change Jammeh for another MANSA face only to live the status Que.

Incase if you are not aware, Gambia needs system change, and not change of faces. Again, Gambians don't trust a person or group of people who say "put us there and we will make it right" They don't trust people who think Gambia belongs to them alone.

If you think having the interest of Gambia is NOTHING SPECIAL then again you need Psychiatric treatment in London. The whole thing comes down to the interest of the Gambia. Many like you are only out to fill their pockets and look like the king you dream of.

A loyal and productive citizen does not have to be elected to office to contribute to an effective nation building. Halifa and his likes will continue to live a decent and admirable life - not the kind you aspire. Call me his disciple if you would. I and many others will always be a student of honesty, integrity and principle.

Since you don't get what you wanted, you might as well hope to bring everyone down with you. You shall fail forever.. Selfish you shall always be....

I didn't know am that powerful. You should have told me earlier. Your Ayatollah would not have been in Parliament in the first place, but that was an accident. It will never happen again.

The only thing you succeeded doing was to tear apart the hopes of the UDP who couldn't wait for another five years to take over the country. Well, all the jubilations are over and your hopes are dashed in the dust bin. You were very successful in making your group look like the greedy monsters and honestly it is a shame that you are trying to hide by celebrating someone's lost when you have failed yourself. Give me one success story you have in the election as the so call majority party? Shame on you Nyarikang (Two voices) You are a laughing bull of the century....
