It is also true , UDP is the largest opposition in the Gambia , but UDP alone has not and probably will not be able to dislodge Jammeh from power. That is why it is important for UDP and NRP to understand that they have to form some kind of an alliance with NADD in order to remove Jammeh. If UDP's Darboe wants a party-led coalition , NADD has said that they are willing to work with him (Darboe) , but he also has to compromise on the ground rules for example term limits ,...
The issue of term limit have being settled and well entrenched in the UDP Constitution that whoever is elected as president of the republic on a UDP ticket is to serve no more than two terms. That is the universally accepted democratic norm all around the Globe, and that is what UDP/NRP/GPDP subscribes to. This will never be compromised for the shake of accommodating a fantasist ideology.
