Kassma, this time you´ve gone too far. It´s ok if you call me an retarded *****, you have the right to your opinion.
But to disrespect my mother and to also disrespect me as a mother (which also is to attack my children) is not Ok.
I have never mentioned Gambiabev in my Charitylady story, and it was written in an ironic sense.
That´s it. I´ve had enough of this forum. Goodluck everyone!
just in case you see this, Babylon if you hadn't gone too far, i would not have gone there with you. anyone here would agree you went too too far |

Babylon, you always advocate that even the worst insults should be allowed here - so what are you crying about; why are you running away or at least pretend to do so? I am almost sure you keep reading the Bantaba. So let me say that one who likes to beat others must be ready to accept a punch. |

I agree, but still there must be a feeling of being trodden underfoot, but, hey ,its a talking shop a place to exchange opinions and to try to understand the views of others ,if this were a boxing match(Serenata talks about punches) the ref would say come on shake hands and get on with it,no one person can be right all of the time life is give and take. |

To the Swedish sister : Don't go baby don't go!
To the German Lady: Of course, I'm on Babylon's side - all the way on the side of the liberated Swedish woman and mother.
Punch?
I found this quotation in my 5767 diary and it's a quote for this week so it demands some reflection to catch the irreverential wicked irony and wit (macho man Lemon where are yu this time?)
"I married a German. Every night I dress up as Poland and he invades me." ( Bette Midler)
You're supposed to laugh or cry and stop being so childish and over-ripely sensitive to the effect of every written word on you.
RSVP. You've been gone a long time, Serenata. Time for you to come back. Please return with some more news about your experiences in the Gambia - tell us who were not there about the elections and more about the rainy season that soaked you wet - like that time in India....remember when the wind took away your umbrella.....clothes clinging to your sculptured best: What a sight you described.
Here's a song for both of you which I used to do in 72.....

A little bit of sympathy wouldn't go amiss here "Cornelius". and the quote by Bette Midler probably not the best ever use of words |

Right! I also don't like it to be a boxing match and at least I try not to fall below a certain standard.

babylon i hope you keep in touch with the fourm, it is interesting
"But I am against that type of system, where individual westerners have to in and help a few people and leave others without help. That is unfair. It is not really your responsability to help singled out people in poor countries, nomatter how sorry you feel for them. You being there will not solve any problems in a long term but it will solve a problem only temporarily. The responsability is with the government of the country. They must create a system that will benefit all the citizens. If you want to change a situation in a country you must go through the politicians, and put pressure on them. That is the only way to get to the problem, according to me. I don´t believe in the charitylady. What happens to the few people if the charitylady suddenly decides not to help anymore? It is all up to her, she decides everything and that is not good. It has to be more organized and much more professional than that. i hope you are including charity organisations in the Charitylady scenerio, because some of the big boys, definately indulge in a little bit on the side. IT IS IN THE HANDS OF THE GOVERNMENT. it is hard for some of us to watch as people suffer through no fault of their own. Sponsorship is a much better gift, that waz it reaches the people, i hate to hand over cash it does give the wrong impression. When i do that i do open up a can of worms. I HOPE YOU STAY WITH THE FORUM. i agree that you are against a szstem |

Jambo, concerning the charity subject I fully agree with you and Babylon.
Babylon, I also don't like you to go, just found you somewhat inconsequent. |

I thought Islam had a concept of 'charity'? My guide gives little bits of money to those less fortunate than himself, even though he doesnt have alot himself. I thought that was a Muslim principle.
I have been bought up to be compassionate to other people. If I see someone else suffering I find it difficult to ignore and would try to help them.
I sponsor several childrens education. I help in Kolior and help my guides family in Pirang. I also help a beach boy. CLEARLY I cant help everyone and CLEARLY it is a drop in the ocean. BUT I see the positive effects on these lives. I hope that as they are good people it will have a 'ripple' effect and they will help others. EG the beach boy I help will feed his friends sometimes. I am aware there are many many people that need help in Gambia, in Africa as a whole, in the developing world and in some parts of the UK too. That is way I also support some charities, such as Action Aid.
You dont want people to be dependent on hand outs, but if help for education or business helps them help themselves I think that is a good thing.
IF the Gambian government made education a top priority then I dont think my help would be needed. but until that day I think people will respond in a very personal way to the people they meet and WANT to help. What is wrong with that? |

I’m sorry:
The Germans borrowed the English proverb, just as the wind borrowed or stole that umbrella.( Whichever one you prefer, you should be proud of your German heritage ( My Yoruba professor phoned and I told him : ONE GOD! He told me that he believes in Ogun. Not even Olodumare? But I forgot to ask. Confirmed that $600 million! Can see Mel Gibson’s mad eyes. Last time it was Jack Nicholson wielding that axe in “The Shining” and the evil gleams in his eyes as he screams chopping through the door, “ Maggie, I’m back !!!”
http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=slv2-&ei=UTF-8&p=Ogun
It’s convenient for any elderly German Shepherd wishing for a Viagra charged Santa Claus for Christmas, ready to spill some juice, knowing that old monkery and nunnery are outlawed by al-Islam. Explain in greater detail. Question is which old Aryan monkey does the German proverb have in mind – not all monkeys are the same. Your monkey in question or just the monkey at the London Circus and zoo – too old to learn ? There is a Swedish saying which goes “Empty barrels make the most noise” There is an English saying that “ Empty vessels make the most noise.” And yet another one which says “You can’t teach an old monkey new tricks.”
I hope that you like “When the deal Goes down”

Babylon it's good to take time out from time to time enjoy your break. Gambianbev the APRC government has been making education a top priority that's why there are more children of both sexes going to school in Gambia than ever before.
Peace
