NADD MILLITANTS TOUR COMMUNITIES By Sarjo Camara-Singateh
NADD Militants are sensitizing communities on the forth-coming Presidential Election. The Militants sensitised the electorate at Fajikunda and Tallinding on what NADD intends to do, if it wins the Presidential Election. A NADD Militant, Mr. Ousman Sillah, told the people at Fajikunda that it is important for them to make a wise choice before the election. He pointed out that the people of this Country should ask the politicians what they intend to do for them when they are elected to power.
Mr. Sillah stated that the rampant arrests and detentions of Citizens beyond 72 hours without bringing them to Court is unconstitutional. He said this is a violation of the rule of law and the rights of the detainees. Mr. Sillah told the electorate that The Gambia belongs to them, therefore they should play their role to make sure that the repressive laws are no longer imposed on anybody, noting the most effective way of putting an end to this is to vote NADD in Office. Mr. Suwaibou Touray also called on Gambians to vote for NADD, as it is the only party that has come to salvage Gambians from poverty, breach of the law, malpractices and abuse of office. Mr. Touray pointed out that NADD has come to empower The Gambian people as enshrined in the constitution. Mr. Touray said The Gambia today is divided into two classes: one group is engulfed in poverty while the other is blessed with wealth. He said assured the people that NADD will stop poverty and ensure freedom from neglect, isolation and marginalisation. He also said that Gambians are not enjoying freedoms of movement and expression. He said President Jammeh is the only person whose security is guaranteed in the country. Buttressing his claim, Touray said that people are sacked or arrested every day. On his part, Mr. Halifa Jatta expressed similar sentiments and called on Gambians to think properly before going to the polls. He called on Gambians to reflect on the 12 years of the Jammeh’s Government in this Country.
