Government Institutions, Commissions and oversight Institutions
Think of a world without guidance. A religion without a scripture-that means Islam without a Quran, Christianity without a Bible, Jewish without a Torah, and a nation without a guiding constitution or better still a constitution that doesn’t represent its people. The people need to reference something, which is why even Almighty God designed a glorious constitution, and defined well its rules and regulations.
The revelations by Hon. Sallah, Flag bearer of NADD that his Government to be will include not only Government institutions, but commissions and oversight institution is a step in the right direction, and this is advance Government management. This is truly a more advanced democracy, and observed even in few of the western countries.
Now, think of all these revelations by activists ranging from illegal arbitrary arrests, closure of newspapers, killings, maiming, tortures, and etc…These cases are all hanging, if such commissions were available, then things would have looked different today. Those committing these heinous crimes are not brought before the law, and therefore continue to do so scot-free.
In a classroom, we have a teacher to oversee your work. The same applies to any work place, where you have a supervisor to monitor your performance-quality and quantity. It is our view at Gainako that a Government needs an oversight institution, in total agreement with Hon. Sallah’s assertion. This in effect, will help to check human rights violations, corruptions. This is the true “accountability and transparency.”
In conclusion, NADD is demonstrating responsible in its promises. It clearly shows that they will be transparent, by having such commissions and oversight institutions account for the daily happenings in our country. It is therefore up to decent Gambians to make a good choice, and not to waste their votes on Election Day. Those without well defined agendas or those that turned our constitution into a toilet paper don’t deserve your vote. They will not represent you.

Oh yes. NADD is making a statement of principle and they will be audited against these if elected. This is boldness, daring, accountability and probity. They are not shying aways from stating their policies.
This is maturity and it is left to people to make their decisions now. |
