Some Farmers Still Owed
By Abdoulie Dibba

According to information reaching FOROYAA  Bai Mass Jagne, an operator in groundnut marketing, is still owing farmers thousands of dalasis. Many farmers have complained that Mr. Jagne has not yet paid for groundnuts supplied to him during the trade season that has just ended. They believe that he is planning to leave the country by tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd August, 2006.

When this reporter visited the home of Bai Mass Jagne in Medina Sering Mass on Saturday, he was told by Modou Jagne, the son of Bai Mass Jagne that his father had gone out. He answered in the negative when he was asked whether his father had travelled. This reporter returned to his home on Sunday morning but he was told by the son that his father had gone to the farrm as early as 6.30 a.m. FOROYAA will publish the views of Bai Mass Jagne whenever we get in touch with him.

Thats a fact that trade seasons have persistently failed and farmers are owed as substantiated by this article on The National Agriculture Development Agency (NADA) bill 2006 under http://www.observer.gm/enews/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5500&Itemid=33&PHPSESSID=aee3ea2c7d48bd60185b3cd0b40cc38f
