on my last trip i am sure some of the pupils i was meeting in year 12 were bordering on genius. the intelligence is amazing when you consider there resources or lack of.

please do not take such a negative view of the school until you visit.
I think some of the mission schools you have visited are run by none gambians and i agree they come across really negative, especially some run by the americans. they are really evangical and I am not sure they provide good value.
you have remember that some of the most repescted schools in Gambian belong to some form of Christian value, catholic, methodist, Anglican, baptist are among the highest performing school in Gambia.
I think they forget why they are there.
but the angligan mission school is well established.

Thats because they started first. There were no other schools then and therefore no competition. Like the mandinka say: SING MENG FOLO TA DALO KONO, WOLEH KA SENEYA.

But that trend is changing fast. They are not any more the best schools.

OKAY KONS, BUT i WAS THINKING OF ST THERESAS, ST PETERS, ST AUGUSTINES, ST FRANCIS, GAMBIA HIGH, who are among the top performing schools in gambia. You have ndows, marina, Zenith, sebac as well but i did not take them into the equation because I do think they are christian schools.
what about the islamic schools where are they in the league, do you know.
