I found this on the freedom online newspaper. The Observer newspaper is really sickening. A lot of innocent people are on that list who have nothing to do with anything and not informers. Just mere gambians registering on the websites forum. Now the sick people at observer call them informers. Below is an extract update i found on the freedom newspaper website.

--------------------------------------------------------
My Fellow Gambians and Friends of The Gambia,

As the founding Editor and publisher of the Freedom Newspaper, I here by once again categorically dismiss reports bandit by the Daily Observer Newspaper, that I joined the Ruling APRC. Such reports are not only outrageous, but malicious. There is no iota of truth into the Observer story.

Freedom Newspaper Publisher describes the Observer story as a "bunch of lies and malice." A high profile suit awaits Observer!!!

Our Newspaper is functioning despite efforts by the Jammeh “hired hackers” to ground it. The list of the Freedom Newspaper subscribers published by the Daily Observer was not from our end and the aim for such misinformation was calculated to deceive and mislead Gambians.

The Daily Observer, will be held responsible for exposing the names of our subscribers on the world web. The Freedom Newspaper and its editorial staff are not a party to such unethical conduct. The Observer had not only invaded the privacies of our subscribers, but had openly lied that the Freedom Newspaper publisher joined the APRC. This paper will take the necessary legal measures to remedy the situation. We are talking to our lawyers to see how best we can drag the Daily Observer and The Gambian government to court. All those involved in this “cyber black mailing” will pay for the price. The Freedom Newspaper is determined to exploit all legal remedies to ensure that those responsible for the exposing of the contact details of our subscribers face the law.

By this letter, we want to assure the Gambian public and our dear subscribers that Pa Nderry M’Bai, has no intentions of joining the APRC and will never join it. Pa Nderry is too civilized to join a party which abused the rights and liberties of Gambians with impunity. We are resolute and no amount of black mailing will shake us. The APRC government is on its last minute and is hell bent on smearing the image of decent Gambians. Little did they know that they are hanging themselves by lying against Pa Nderry M’Bai. They said that Pa Nderry had ceased publishing the Freedom Newspaper, which is a lie. You can read our leading online paper at this link: www.freedomnewspaper.com The Daily Observer and The Gambia government owe an unconditional apology to Pa Nderry M’Bai and the Freedom Newspaper. This might minimize the high profile legal battle that awaits them.

We are not taking this matter lightly. The observer exposes our subscribers to great risk, knowing how hostile the Jammeh government is. It was erroneous for the Observer to imply that the subscribers were our ‘informants.” This is totally false. Our sources are at the State House. They dine and do things with Jammeh. If their attempt is to provoke us to reveal the names of our dependable sources, they will miserably failed. As journalists, we are duty bound to protect our sources. No amount of provocation will compel us to discuss or reveal our sources.

I’m an independent journalist and who do not have any ties with any political party in The Gambia. I hate to be associated with Jammeh’s undemocratic government. It is an insult for anyone to associate me with a government that had subjected me over the years, endless persecution. If the Jammeh government is short of party supporters, it should not use Pa Nderry’s name for political gains. Such cheap and politically motivated “slanderous campaign” against my personality and the Freedom Newspaper will not work.

It is evident that this government is doing all in its means to undermine the Freedom Newspaper. They cannot stand our editorial line, which is giving them sleepless nights. The Freedom Newspaper is barely two months old and Jammeh is crying everywhere. It is too early to black mail Freedom, its staffers and readers. We have more to expose in days to come. Our usual sources in your government have reaffirmed their allegiance to work with the Freedom to ensure that justice and democracy prevails in The Gambia. These sources are right before your eyes and not the list of subscribers published by the Observer. None of our editorial staff members have spoken to these subscribers. They are mere readers and not sources as bandit by the Observer. We therefore wish to apologise to our subscribers for any discomfort the Observer story might caused to them. The Freedom Newspaper condemns this Observer madness in the strongest terms.

It is imperative to note that the so called hackers penitrated my personal email account and not the host main server, which is how they obtained my password to have access to the site. Investigations are going on and once it is completed the public will be informed.

On a final note, our state house, GNA, police, NIA and other government Department sources are assured of their fullest protection. The Freedom Newspaper will never violate the confidentiality between “journalist/sources” relationship. Together, we can expose tyranny and dictatorship in The Gambia. We count on your support and encouragement. We rest our case.

Signed ......

Pa Nderry M'Bai,

Managing Editor/Publisher

Of The Freedom Newspaper

USA

Thanks Pa.

We all know that this is a ploy against you and your team. However, refuting it is not bad either. GOOD LUCK and keet the revelations.

We shall never be free. Our freedom is a challenge to work very hard! We need to work very hard and never think of having freedom or what does your "free" or freedom equate to?

Kobo I can see your frustration but please do not be too pessimistic. Let us blend the struggle with a degree of optimism. Hard work pays even if it is not recognised by others. Therefore I will reiterate your words " we need to work hard".

I am sure that wheneven you occupy a public position, you will render some change; and I will do the same likewise others. Surely our chances will come some day and a change will occur. I want to think that it is not far away anymore, INSHA ALLAH.

THEREFORE KOBO WE WILL BE FINE. Let us keep the heat up.

Taalibeh Thanks but thoose remarks "Gambia shall never be free" appears to be decades away from happenning, far fetched, conceeding and accepting enslavement, injustice, tyranny and dictatorship to rule with an open cheque to slut any period. I believe we should dictate our change in good spirit, became more optimistic than demoralisng ourselves and loosing hope?

" I BELIEVE WE SHOULD DICTATE OUR CHANGE IN GOOD SPIRIT"

This is a great statement and is rich in substance. We should absolutely dictate our change because the power to effect change resides in us. The process extends beyond Bantaba and reaches far and wide.

There had been a very promising political structure in the fromation of NADD. Now that is shattered and where do we go from here is the big question. We all support change I suppose but in a democratic way preferably. I honestly believe that all is not lost with NADD yet. With more mounting pressure there is a propensity that they may get back together again.

Let us all pray and hope that the change we are yearning for will be a peaceful one for all ie through the ballot box.

Taalibeh Thats why we cannot afford to loose this opportunity. It is all about power struggle by the major opposition parties rather than patriotism. However patriotism and peoples power would finally override.

I think a compromise between the opposition party leaders is still possible. My slight doubt is about Mr Darboe's tendency to tilt a little bit towards a compromise. No disrespect to the Lawyer but my suspicious is arose as a result of subsequent statements he made after the split up. To me there was a lot of ambiguity in his statement and made me believe that there was a missing piece to the jig shaw.

However, I can see that level of flexibility with Halifa for a compromise. This is my personal judgement and opinion. For Mr Bah, he is just a baggage and fall with a slight push.

The major issue lies between Darboe and Sallah.
