Freedom Newspaper informers exposed Written by DO Wednesday, 24 May 2006 Pa Nderry M’bai, the editor and publisher of the seditious Online Freedom Newspaper, has made a startling revelation of people passing him information against the government, while shifting allegiance to the ruling APRC and shutting down the paper.
In a list made privy to the Daily Observer yesterday, Mr M’bai, a former journalist in The Gambia and opposition of The Gambia Government, said: “I have decided to stop producing the Freedom Newspaper as I have pledged an allegiance with my brother Ebou Jallow to join the APRC election campaign.” Daily Observer will Thursday publish the names of all those who have manifested malice and hostility towards The Gambia Government through the Freedom Newspaper. | Can anyone see his or her name here? I have identified few UK/USA and back home (Gambia). May allah be with them if they've posted anything against the dictator. I fear for these people's jobs. |

lemontime you are right, i feel sorry for the people in Gambia who are the list. This sounds to me like a lot of old scores will be settled. I give in till monday and we will hear of some arrests of people who are listed. How sad. How will we learn what is going on. |

People whoes names and e-mail addresses are published do not necessarily indicate that they have in any shape or form been feeding the editors with information about the government. These people could have simply registered in the chatroom just like we have on Bantaba here.
Secondly I do not see any good purpose the Observer editor think they are serving by publishing this list. They are instead creating more bad name for themselves. This shows that the paper is yaya's.
I do not know how Saja Taal will continue to face Gambians after jammeh. |

Lemon time, secondly you have to think further; who in their right mind will register on a chatroom with their right datails? Most of those names wont be traceable. You can register any e-mail address with any name you want.
Thirdly do you think yaya's never ending name is his birth name? I do not think so. He forged it like we all do online. |

| Taalibeh and Rah, the daily observer should grow up!! this is utter rubbish in my opinion, how dare they print subscribers names? its in breach of the data Protection Act and how do they even know they are informers? its ****ing ridiculous!! I'm so pissed off and will keep reading the freedom newspaper, they've done nothing wrong aloong with all of the subscribers. Jammeh's a paranoid ****er and should go on and focus on more important issues that need to be dealt with rather than worrying about who's bad mouthing him on cyberspace as all they doing is that! and its not like anyone of these people are acting on it! |

| Even if I am not at all fond of freedom newspaper's journalistic style, I am shocked by this publication. This is a shame for the Observer, a newspaper which, over a long time, stood for serious journalism. This action reminds of former USSR's official newspaper 'Prawda', but I am not sure if even 'Prawda' would have done such a thing. Disgusting!! |
