Hart House Wants to Register Vehicle
africa » gambia
Tuesday, September 07, 2010

For most people having a vehicle is their problem, but for the Hart House management in Sinchu Alhaji registering it is their challenge.

They are crying for help to register a 15-seater mini bus donated to them by Antwerp-Banjul Challenge in March this year.

Geoff the CEO for Hart House (Home for Children with learning difficulties #150; The Gambia) with Rohey, his assistant, have asked for help to register the 15-seater minibus to be put in use. "The need for the bus is great, and here it stands wasting. We are not happy with this development," he said.

Geoff further said that the handing over ceremony attracted a high-powered delegation from the Brikama Area Council, the American Embassy with television crew and members of the print media. The delegation included the then American Ambassador, Barry Wells and his wife.

"Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, it (the vehicle) has not been used, as minor repairs are needed as well as to pay tax, for the insurance, and number plates etc. We need help to get these straight, and let the children enjoy something for their trips," he said.
"Our problems are many, and we are asking for people to help us. We still need help with painting, concreting, plumbing, window capping, the play-ground and, of course, the mini bus," he said.

Antwerp-Banjul Challenge has donated a lot of vehicles last spring and I wonder how others managed to register theirs. In my opinion this Children's home should have a waiver for the mini bus if it will only be for official use. It looks like a good initiative but their problem is not only the mini bus. http://www.harthouse.gm/about.html

did i miss something was this donated in march, the american embassy, the ambassador and his wife, high level delegates and press where there at the hand over and it is only now they ask for help.
1 what was the price they needed in march, surely in march they knew they needed help for registration and other matters,
2 why not ask for donations from invited guests.
DID I MISS SOMETHING, TIME WILL NOT SOLVE THIS MATTER.
ACTION WILL.
DONATED IN MARCH THIS YEAR
I AM SURE SOMEONE WILL THINK THAT IS HARSH, but in march money was needed, or was it there then and is now gone.
