Humor: The Difference Between Sorrie & Sorry
It was a halpular, Sorrie who set off on a journey to New York from Futatoro. As part of counsel before his departure, his father said to him, “Sorrie, my good son, be careful when you go to Amehrik. The Whiteman is gifted with the wisdom of knowledge.”
With a blessing on his footprint, and good-bye handshake from his father, Sorrie left for the long flight to New York. It happens that he arrived safe, and started settling down and adjusting to the environment like any other immigrant normally does.
Here comes Sorrie’s lucky day. He was walking in the busy streets of New York, with people headed in all directions near the Times’ Square, all of a sudden some Whiteman (Joe-the-plumber) accidentally knocked on his hand, while he (Joe) was trying to squeeze in-between an electric pole and Sorrie, and he goes “ I am really Sorry!”
Sorrie, of course so proud and loaded with his broken English to the brim of his head, jumped to his feet with shouts: “How does he know my name? Oh Yes, my father counseled me on this.”
I wish you all a successful and pleasant Ramadan in advance. For my jovial cousins (Sannaku), the Serers, the Jarjues, the Kabunkas, the Bainunkas, and everyone else, please get ready to welcome the stranger, Ramadan.
