It is now reported that APRC pulled 3665 votes instead of 3365. The margin has now increaded from 551 votes to 851.

Is anyone aware of a complain being filed that led to a recount or was it an internal necessity. Well IEC should be commended if they realised the mistake early on. Congratulations to the winner. For the others, work harder at convincing your electorate next time.

Like I said before about integrity, blackmail, manipulation, incompetence and independence of the IEC they are now seen to existed and demonstrating some of the weaknesses of the electoral system. Then followed by arrests and detentions of citizens exercising their democratic rights. These are causes for complains and not free and fair in total and results not reliable.

How did they manage to miss three hundred votes. Was it not an independent count.

It is anyone's guess. Right now with a divided opposition, they have no clout to bear any pressure. Unity is strenght

The Independent Electoral Council (IEC) are hand picked by Jammeh himself so that they could dance to his music. Any strategic position APRC want to snatch they used the IEC to undermine it by manipulation of the voter register with changes, transfers and updates and grant it to the APRC. This exposed them as corrupt stooges of the regime and puts the integrity of the IEC into question to linger so far a dictator existed, lack of law and order as the law enforcement agencies and defenders of the Constitution are ineffective, incompetent, corrupt and biased on the side of ruling party.

Nothing can change things apart from a revolution manifested by the peoples' themselves in massses and massive numbers against injustices and corruption.

kobo please run for president. if the IEC is handpicked then it was a foregone conculsion that the result would be in favour of yaya. but i thought it was overseen by joint committe of all parties.
Also why the increase does this have some bearing, an extra 300 hundred votes achieves what, they had already one.

Kombo East Results

In the Kombo East by-election, Mr Jung Conteh, the APRC sponsored candidate was declared elected by the Independent Electoral Commission. The IEC results show that Mr Jung Conteh polled 3665 votes, Lamin Darboe of UDP/NRP polled 2814 votes and Modou Lamin Touray of NADD 1109 votes. The statistics reveals that since the total number of registered voters in the Constituency is 13,475 only 54% of the registered voters voted, which indicates a low voter turn out.

I believe it is the shock of the opposition disunity. People are no longer motivate to vote. The spirits are low and my guess is the same trend will follow in November.
