This report from The Observer,Justice Moses Richards was concerned by the mental state of this defendant,afer all who would choose to be remanded to Mile Two ! This I think shows a concern that Mental health in The Gambia a subject that has largely been ignored is being more recognised, by those in authority, lets hope so.

Alleged murderer to face psychiatric test - As he warns of violence Africa » Gambia Friday, February 26, 2010 One Kalilou Bojang, was yesterday, February 25th, arraigned before Justice Moses Richards of the Special Criminal Court in Banjul on charges of murder.
The accused was alleged to have unlawfully caused the death of one Cherno Jallow by hitting him with an iron bar on October 24, 2009 at Serrekunda, KSMD. He pleaded guilty to the charge and asked the court to remand him in prison, otherwise he would fight and may likely cause another death.
Justice Moses Richards then adjourned the case to March 16, 2010 for the accused to be examined by a psychiatrist to ascertain his state of mind.
