What a difference here imagine a Gambian musician releasing such a clip in the Gambia. It is humorous , highly charged and most relevant of course we all know the Professor President would not condone this one bit, the musician would go six feet deep or get a VIP ticket to the number two as "mile 2 " Central prisons was known then, that was the olden days heh ! heh! heh!
Gambia's blood sucking night man Abdul Aziz Yaya is no difference to Senegalese grand demagogue Abdul Laye Wade. They have both no spine of humans to feel guilty a bit.
Superb work by Youssou Ndour. Many ways to drive vital message home.
If one looks at this critically one could disagree about the similarities but then we also know that Senegal has a very strong democratic base as well as a deeply entrenched desire on the part of the citizenry to show disapproval of anything that the government does and they are fearlessly defensive about this too, hence the several violent demonstrations against government dictates in the past. The difference here is a docile populace which is the lot of the Gambia who seem to rely on Allah's grace to solve their problems or grace the situation as it were.I doubt that a Yayha style governance would be tenable in Senegal .
