A contentious question for ALL Bantaba members -
Are we all equally welcome here or are we not?
Sometimes I feel that only certain voices and points of view are valued and others are sidelined.
I hope this is not the case, because I value my Gambian connections and the connectons I have with the country (and people who are interested in it) via this website.
How about everyone who values a broad base for Bantaba just replies with "YES" ??
Let's see what happens .......

Probably, your question is for admins. The answer is obvious -yes, if you were to get my opinion!
Just my own understanding after years of debating here, people debate on issues that interest them. (The group i belong)..no one should feel isolated...others know certain people or are in touch with them via this forum, so they move along lines as well...
on a note, those that debate with racial, tribal tendencies, terror, dominance, etc....people are careful in replying, make judgments...and some times dodgy of their threads, or people are hasty to jump onto their necks in retaliation of the offense. If you are a frequent poster like 2bab, you can't complain of isolation, and you know after all, "simple is good." If you are like me, you post to make a case...to inform, educate or share jokes or wisdoms sayings from somewhere...and you are not worried if someone responds or not...an acknowledgement, yea! but you can always tell people are reading what you post..so..post more and more again at your leisure.
Back to you now, if you don't mind sharing with us...why do you feel isolated???

Dalton1 you are are a reasonable fellow as are some others my feeling of isolation is in no way associated with these posters
OK, worded a bit better my sentiments are exactly the same as lily's.
I hope that Momodou will not feel offended as he does like his polls

Thanks. To apply Omar's (RA) wisdom, I understand where you are coming from. & I have taken mine back. I am sure you realized, as a common fellow here, I just debate randomly...here and there, married to certain postings,& posters.
On a personal advice, be like Kay, RUN big and attractive headlines like "IDLE STATE HOUSE", ETC...someone will pay attention to your postings.

Ours here was terribly cold, below 17 degrees (-17) i guess. We had off days, and mingled with friends and families.
In the Gambia, I would imagine, they probably just stayed in door...for safety? Yes. urge to celebrate at home? yes. a wish not to bother anyone or be bothered? yes. There were also some Senegambian Musicians there around the same time...maybe that? Yes. Other concerts, programs, etc..? May be? Yes. Anything else....others, help Lily.

What do you mean by a broad base Bantaba?

Dalton1,Thanks,its not really attention I seek ,its that I find some things interesting and feel that not the whole story is being told, phrases sometimes have meanings that could be ambigious and subject to various interpretations,I like to explore that.
SOME here at the moment have such a narrow view on things that they discuss that discussions are not possible,it concerns me that Momodou has created a platform that has been taken over by those with a limited view of life,fun and happiness are not within their understanding ,people who wish to have a bantaba with wider scope get fed up and leave,sometimes because they have been badly insulted by a minority view. so the minority become the majority in such circumstances.

Momodou,No one is saying that Bantaba in cyberspace (your home page) is not good and well moderated,I think that some of the existing members have browbeaten members who have decided to leave everyone should have joined because they are interested in The Gambia,some have joined for much narrower reasons.I will not clarify further.

Certainly you are not an attention seeker, not even close to being one in my view. Omar's (RA) was a great deciple of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).It is said during his reign, he would go around the city to see if everyone was ok at night.On one occasion, he was returning home on his horse at night, he saw a woman and her kids were crying.When Omar (RA) approached them, he realized to his dismay that they were hungry.He said to himself, I am the leader of this town, I must make sure these kids and their mother are well fed before I go to sleep, because they are all my subjects, so he went and fetched them food, enough to eat.
On a note, Kay, you got the humor, thanks. Certainly, without doubt, if headlines are run outragious like "IDLLE STATE HOUSE", the green boys and girls will be on parade to wage a crusade. Just so you know, they are recruiting people online both in the diaspora and at home.

I calculate 3 YES in reply to your topic, out of a membership of ? mind you many MAY have left for the reasons outlined by you,or for other reasons such as they thought that Bantaba in Cyberspage was a contact or dating site ,it cannot be all THAT many if you look at Momodou's topic read numbers they vary from somewhere around 50 to 800 reads,until you reach this topic

Which has had over 2000 ! in General discussions,and no I won't bother to do more complex calculations taking in all the topics 
The Poiitics reads were roughly the same as general reads (surprised me )
The Religion reads APPEARED to be less than the other catagories.
What does that tell you ? I have no idea but members obviously like food
