God help them.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.
Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |

| This is one of the biggest earthquakes I have ever heard of...the massive destruction on structures and loss of lives is unbelievable. Very sad, indeed. |

| Tragic indeed... |

It is truly no good news.
I hope and pray that Allah swt comes to their help. Amen.

Events like this make me think more about the forces of nature than 'GOD'.
If god created people then why would he/she let them suffer like this? Why would you let this earthquake happen?
I think the people have to get on and help themselves and rely on human help from other countries. I dont think god will be helping them out! |

Bev,
That is you...
with us God said "innahu huwa yubdi uuu wa yu e' duu" , meaning "Doer of whatever He wills."
I would rather see the bottle half-full than half- empty.
anyways, happy new year...

To You (Allah) we ask for help and favors.

California, one of the world's most dangerous seismic hot spots was hit by a 9.2 earthquake in 1964 and a 7.0 in 1989, I have learned. As many as 10,000 earthquakes, many of them minor and imperceptible, hit california each year according to the U.S. Geologocal Survey (USGS). Also, earlier this month a 6.5 earthquake hit the state but very little destruction or disruption to life was registered. Apart from the magnitude (7.0) and the intensity (distance and depth of the epicenter), Haiti'e earthquake is worsened by weak infrastructure and chronic poverty. A lot of california has earthquake-proof buildings, topnotch infrastructure and communication, as well as high public awareness about earthquake emergency response. These factors are largely non-existent in Haiti, often refered to as the Western hemisphere's poorest country. But I do not afterall subscribe to a God that sits up there and watch humans-the so-called highest of His creation (by His own will) suffer a fate like this. I just can't help subscribing, like Einstein, to Spinoza's God. I think the earth, like the universe itself has an explosive (violent) beginning: the Big Bang. The climatological and geomorphological forces that continues to shape and reshape the earth are often violent and shattering physical forces of nature that has no special regard for humans. This earth has existed mostly for non-humans. For millions of years before the emergence of humans, the earth has been ravaged and contoured by violent physical forces that created mountains, rivers, valleys; destroyed them, and created them again in almost arbitrary cyclic rythms often without regards to life... My heart goes out to Haiti... |

Save the children are already working in Haiti with street children. So far 30 of their staff are not accounted for.
They are setting up an emergency appeal.
Very shocking to see the coverage. The poorest people always suffer most. Richer people who survived are taking planes out of there! |

Just like Katrina in New Orleans some years ago. I guess that's "God's will"-siding with the rich, going by Dalton's post |

I am sorry but tausands people are dying there. People are so desperate request any help. Bev is trying to score a point for her agenda. So is Kayjatta. Have some compassion people. Instead of politics, go to one of the site i provided and send some cash.
