Lets talk about the constitution for a second and just may be some of ya'll fools will get an undertstanding of what the constitution entails.
According to reports from the daily observer "The government of the Republic of The Gambia guarantees the exercise of freedom of expression, as well as guarantees the dignity and integrity of every citizen who also has the right to revert to the laws when ever his/her integrity or dignity has been infringed by somebody in his/her exercise of freedom of expression. The government of the Republic of The Gambia would defend the honour and dignity of every Gambian because that is her responsibility. Therefore, the laws of this land would be enforced to the letter no matter who is involved".
Journalists are therefore urged to desist from being seditious and to remember that every citizen is accountable for his/her actions under the law, and they are no exception"
Most of ya'll wondering why Jammeh said the journalist will be punished to the full extent of the law, first and foremost let me explain this to you ignorant fools .The Constitution provides that the President ensures that the laws be faithfully executed and foremost among these so called laws is the Constitution itself.
The fact is as much as these powers are vested on him , he may not exceed the powers particularly granted to him by the people regardless of how much ya'll hate what just happened ,the fact is the laws were implemented to be followed by all.
What ya'll failing to do is to ask who authored the constitution, Personally after knowing about all the human imperfections i doubt if the authors provided a means by which amendments might be made or it's just lack of civic education from the politicians to the average joe.
I think it's time for Gambians to start asking what can be done to fix an imperfect document when the need arises .If Gambians feel that a law is not constitutional sitting here not knowing whats wrong or what went wrong is a serious problem that needs to be addressed .Gambians lack of civic education is the ONLY reason we would end up with Silo Bula and the cyber terrorists runing their mouths with the belief that they are freedom fighters.
There is no explaination for the lack of respect of the rule of law by unworthy citizens of our nation and even more pathetic that they are just as clueless as to what the law is or says.
Let me reassure you there is no other proper means of changing the Constitution, either temporarily or permanently as most of you douche bags would have liked .The fact is Any attempt to use means other than that of an amendment is unlawful and directly opposed to the Gambian Constitution. The constitution is only to be Amended after mature and deliberate consideration.Not just because Baghdad bob said it's unfair...........................................................Peace
