Another deep and dark point in the history of the United Nations
In September 2001 the first UN world conference met against racism in the South African Durban. The goal: Slavery and colonialism should be considered from now on officially as crimes.
With inflammatory speeches and libelous pamphlets in the plenum and before the gates of the conference above all a state was attacked: Israel - as alleged from birth of racism and apartheid. The boycott appeal relies on the draft of the conclusion document of the conference. After present conditions that would condemn 60 sides strong paper only one state explicitly: Israel. The UN high commissioner for human rights, N Pillar, cannot reconstruct the excitement. She understands not the calls to the boycott, She said “The fears that the conference can be anti-Israeli abused, are unfounded”
