Another deep and dark point in the history of the United Nations
In September 2001 the first UN world conference met against racism in the South African Durban. The goal: Slavery and colonialism should be considered from now on officially as crimes.
With inflammatory speeches and libelous pamphlets in the plenum and before the gates of the conference above all a state was attacked: Israel - as alleged from birth of racism and apartheid. Orchestrate became the Ant Zionist attacks of authoritarian Islamic regimes. “The hate parliamentary group sat down through „title at that time “Frankfurt round-looks ". The meeting came fast into oblivion - three days after the end of the conference, starting from that to 11. Septembers 2001, dominated other headlines.

Now the sad play could repeat itself. On 20- 25 April UN in Geneva wants to hold the “Durban –follow” against racisms and not only be afraid Jewish organizations that states such as Iran, Libya or Saudi Arabia the conference to an anti-Israeli tribunal to re-design. The same fears have obviously also the governments of Canada, Italy and the USA. Germany is in consideration or is even to call off their participation planned so far, at least demands the initiative “boycotts Durban II”: They announced to boycott the meeting. Israel threatens to ago become selected again in unfair way “”, criticized the government of US president Barack Obama.
The boycott appeal relies on the draft of the conclusion document of the conference. After present conditions that would condemn 60 sides strong paper only one state explicitly: Israel. Accordingly the paper dedicates itself also only to one conflict: the Middle East conflict. And one follows the remarks, is the Jewish state there the exclusive aggressor. Torture, apartheid and human right crime - on page nine of the draft are the collected reproaches.
With it Durban attaches II smoothly at Durban I .A document of the unbelievable unilateral nature Indeed it is amazing that at an anti- Racism conference neither other crisis centers nor specific violations of human rights are to be mentioned. “One hardly believes it .No word to the mass murder in Darfur, no word to genital mutilating, or racistic terror.
The reason is for the initiators of the initiative obvious. The conference of the UN human right advice is organized, in which 47 states take part.
The advice developed 2006 from the ruins of the UN human right commission, to which one had accused, to be the romping place of totalitarian states But also the follow-up committee has many critics, because still states with human being-legally doubtful balance are involved: Saudi Arabia participates, Pakistan, Cuba and China also.
Thus also the eclats did not stop - like in June last year when the British human rights activist David Littman in a speech before the people right advice wanted to speak about genital mutilating,he was prevented by representatives of Egypt and Pakistan with interruptions from it. The president at that time of the advice made short process: He explained each argue over the Sharia in the context of a debate over human rights for inadmissible.
The boycott supporters take offense however particularly at the so-called preparation committee of the April conference. The group from 20 states is responsible also for the draft of the conclusion document. Libyan one holding responsible the presidency of the committee among the deputies are Iran, Pakistan and Cuba.

The UN high commissioner for human rights, N Pillar, cannot reconstruct the excitement. She understands not the calls to the boycott, She said “The fears that the conference can be anti-Israeli abused, are unfounded”
In Geneva meanwhile on a new conclusion paper one works in the next days. I hope will not be “An abuse UN”
