This is an old joke.
The strange farmer Dukureh in the outskirts of Sintet is still memorable. He was weeding at his farm while he hung his hat by the tree branches that extends from its canopy. The moist places are good habitats for scorpions. By serious accident, the bad old feared scorpion took shelter in the man's hat. It was time to go home, and poor Mangha Dukureh picked up his ordinary hat to wear on. As soon as he puts the hat on, the scorpion gave him a nasty sting right on the head's center. Dukureh rushed home crying at the top of his lungs. When he was asked what happened, he went "a devil has axed me on my head." Neighbors searched and searched but to no avail.

| Ha ha ha mawdo achew !I have another one on a friend whose father claims to have a charm or mystic power by use of incantations to render a scorpion incapable of stinging. He was challenged to show this feat and when a scorpion was sighted we ran away in fright calling ''Buntalo buntalo'' my friend's dad simply took a hand full of soil and muttered some gibberish on and flung it in the direction of the scorpion, and he then grabbed it with his bare hands. My friends! he was stung and he immediately flung it away and starting shouting out loud ''woye mbaanteh! ayenbung! buntalo yenbung ah ah ah''. We were scared to laugh at him but then this became funny joke at the expense of our friend, as we always tell him about his father's scorpion stinging story. |

That was the day's humor.......
In my native village, our tribal counsin---he died now, may his sould rest in perfect peace. It is Jarjou Jola.
It was said that hot pepper heals the eyes as is traditional method. He pounded the pepper, put the powder in white clothe and soaked it with water to drip on his eyes. Once he did, he shouted in Jola "Wonjey wonjey, injeh pana loo." It simply translates "I am going to die." So he went on instructing his family members to share his will----the cows, goats, hens et cetera....
The other one of my uncles....during the time of "Toptain" shoes. His son Momodou asked him to buy the shoes -toptain. and the old man went on to the gathering at the bantaba, "Listen to Momodou! He said I should give him a sack of rice so he can step foot on it."
At the time, toptain cost more than a bag of rice. In pular, the naration is a buzz in the ears.

| You know Concort, there was an encounter between a Fula man and a Serereh guy. They were talking about God and suddenly the Fula man accused the Serereh of trying to steal God by assigning a name and surname to God which in essence made him a Serereh. The name in dispute is Rogue Sene . This made our Fula so furious and asked his mate to recant. They failed to get an agreement on the issue so they went to a jola chief , who owns both guys. He listened to them and told them that God's name was ATIJAMEET .So they had to accept that as a compromise and lived happily after wards in perfect peace as underlings of the Jola . Na true! Concort, make you no deny am o.Dalton me na jola but new style not like our Jimukoreh okay ! And you most try , by force repeat what I wrote in pularr and very swiftly too ha ha ha. yeha! |

I know that we have <chuncom or kaanah> , and the fula have root beer or the fermented sorghum drink which is so strong it knocks one out so quickly, what is the serereh brew called eh? |

This is one of the oldest pranks that one can play on kids and people not fluent in pular. The jovial goal is to make them make mistakes so you can laugh at them.
Think of the exit as a narrow way where every animal or human passingby has to squeeze through it.
So:
