kay this is not plagiarism. Babylon never attempted to pass this off as her own work.

Babylon I actually enjoyed reading the OP again the rest for me is irrelevant, but may I point out you also missed the fact that most pseudo-intellects sleep eat and whatever else with their trusted thesaurus in hand.
but please do not discount them they work very hard indeed.

As for the age thing I remember a topic a few years ago where one of my sons was asked to write a piece about becoming old.
Much to my dismay he had written that by the time he reached 40 he would probably be dead because that was very very old ekkkkkkkkkkk im now 2 years over that very very old status and I think im a yummy mummy lol.
Remember forty is the old age of youth; fifty the youth of old age. ~Victor Hugo

I also am a fan of Dr Jays though they still dont stock the House of Dereon grrrrrrrr

Hiz, any time you use, copy, quote, paraphrase, etc. someone else's work, you have to acknowledge it by appropriately citing the source. That is the rule. Failure to do that is a violation of the intellectual property laws, and sometimes it could land some people in serious trouble. It also amounts to "pseudo-intellectualism" to use Babylon's own word or should I say plagiarized word.

Hahahaha I think you must be the coolest cat around here!

That Victor Hugo quote sounds positive.
I was the same as your son, when I was 15 I thought 20 is kinda old. When I was 24 I felt really old and thought 30 is as old as dinosaur! I never wanted to turn 30, had a great big depression the year before that.
Now that I am 31 I feel quite young afterall, I feel quite the same as when I was in my 20´s... But to think I will turn 40 soon is a horrific thought.
I know all the members who are 50-something are rolling their eyes thinking I´m ridiculous but ageing is really scary to me. I do not look forward to it at all. Sometimes I think I´d rather die than turn 50...

Oh well.. I guess things change in time, maybe I will change my mind later.

I did see some Dereon clothes at dr.Jays, here is the direct link:

Look, I really dont mind being a so called pseudo intellectual. You see I do not walk around thinking I am some sort of higher intellectual person, more valueble than the regular joe who may not even be able to read. How nerdy is that?
I grew up around "intellectual" people and they are the ones who usually judge others quicker than anyone and should come down to earth realizing they are just people not better than anyone else.

Excuse me a hundred times for not putting out the link to the source!!!

Kay, since when has this forum become so academic that one has to name sources even when not requested?

It does not have to be an academic paper in order to acknowledge sources. It is a rule of writing, it is the law, and it applies every time, all the time. It is an equivalent of stealing (yes theft) some one's property, intellectual property
Do you remember when a certain U.S. politician has to withdraw his candidature when he was found to have used the words of a former British politician in a campaign speech without acknowledgement?
Please let us try to cite our sources whenever we use or rely on other peoples works and ideas. It is a good practice for showing respect to the original author as well as your readers ...

Kay,
Babylon never passed that as her own work as the the following posting from her highlights
Why dont you google it (the source) like you always do Ms. unemployed "teacher" who have the time to sit here day and night...

The best thing to do in such situations is probably to ask the person for her source failing which provide it for the greater membership. Chastising someone for not citing her source in an informal forum such as bantaba is absurd.

pseudo? ha? Is it english? how do you prounounce this word? zzzzzzzzzzzzz

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

"Pseudo" means false, like in pseudopodia in amoeba for "false feet" (elementary biology).I guess it is pronounced 'sedo', but you can check the phonetic spelling in the dictionary, Turk.
Madiss, no one is chastising Babylon, we are just trying to point to her the appropriate way to do things. People need to have humility to accept good faith corrections without going into defensiveness.

:-D

Really, all this talk about who is a "real" intellectual is ridiculous!
What is this a brain competition? Who´s got the real vs false intellect?
Big deal...

I wrote (well COPIED) this text to show you the absurdness in making differences between peoples intellects. Everybody are smart in their own way, there is no need to measure intelligence because there are different kinds of intelligence.
It is a respons to Lurker who did call me a pseudo intellectual, a fake intellectual. I am flattered really because I never thought of myself as any sort of Intellectual...
I am just a regular big mouthed person, a mum, a wife and working woman who never went to the uni. I am also an artist.

babylon. Are you really loling? Because the last post you sounded like you are laughing but you sound little angry. Anyway, I decided I want to get to know you more. What kind of artist are you? How many kids do you have? Where do you work?
