The Gambia government did not accuse Senegal – SoS L Kaba Bajo

On transit Friday the 7th April 2006, the Gambian Secretary of State for of foreign affairs Lamin Kaba Bajo re-affirm and thanked the Senegalese government for the varm relationship and the effective political and juducial cooperation between the two countries in a communique handed over to the Senegalese authorities.

The communique stressed that, great importance have not been given to claims by one of the accused coup plotters who claims to have prior contacts with the Senegalese ambassador in the Gambian following recent attempted coup. Instead, the Gambia and Senegalese governments have been cooperating politically and judicially. The Senegalese authorities for doing their best the find out if the claim that the presumed Coup leader is or not in Senegalese territory or anyone else involved.

Bajo’s communiqué highlighted the cordial bilateral relationship between the neighbouring countries in all fields and the mutual understang that exists.

He said that, the unfortunate event was defused within 48 hours abd that President Jammeh has from the onset been informing President wade about the situation and both Bajo and Jammeh are continually giving reports of the evolution of the crisis.

He also re-iterated that, a Gambian newspaper highlihted the accusations of the Senegalese authorities for having a hand in the unfortunate even but assured that the Government of the Gambia has never uttered anything to this regard.

A summery of the article.

These guys are liars! The Daily Observer (owned by Jammeh) said that Senegal owed Gambia an explantion!!!!! Therefore implicating Wade and his government. The Observer is edited by Saja Taal (former APRC Administrator and current memeber of APRC organizing committee). The Board of Directors: Momodou Sanyang (GRTS and Jammeh right hand man for FutamPaf festivals), Nenneh Macdoll, Yankuba Touray...and other party die hards (FJC). So every editorial IS actually a white paper from President's Office.
Lamin Kabba Bajo: you are unsophisticated, ignorant and amature diplomat! You are like Jammeh, a liar. Stop pitting us agaisnt our Senegalese cousins! Enough!

Guys, please don't worry. You know what, jammeh made a costly mistake which he has realised and putting himself in an overdrive to correct them.

There is a saying in wollof that when the wind puts a leaf in a hole in the ground, it wont be able to remove it again from the hole.

Jammeh, the damage has already been done. You said you have no advisers. This is why you, on a daily basis, make terrible mistakes which will end up eating you alive.
