Hi brothers, There is strong romour that Lie Conteh(ex Major and former mayor of K M C) has also been killed. It was alledged that he died from his injuries which was so fatal that he could not survive. It was alledged that he was severely beaten with gun butt all over at the central prison and there was orders not to take him to the hospital as it was to avart people's attention thus creating too much noise. He was kept in prison where he receives treatment.I walked all the way from my home to Lie Conteh's family compound and so many people were seen there some in tears while others console them saying its not true he is still alife. If u are to look for a parallel to the brutality in black African politics,u'll search forever. The brutality in Black African politics is unique in the whole world. Let's foget Gambia for a second.
President Denis Sassou Nguesso, Africa's current #1 diplomat--it's Congo Brazaville's turn to head the rotating leadership of our balderdash African Union(AU), is one of the most horrible leaders in Africa. His privat army known to all in the country, slaughter and chop off the body parts of the president's opponents, parade them on the streets to deter pending opposition to the president.
Africa wants to be respected, what laughter!!!

Something had gone very, very, wrong in history with the black race to leave us(blacks) with our sorrowful fate today. Something that will actually take decades of research and studies to be able to put a finger on to. Where, why and when did it go wrong with the black race? |

All this has happened also in Europe and other continents! Not ebola, I suppose and aids in less extension. To get rid of these phenomena are a work for human beings. Surely God is not going to help you.

Kiwi1, you see I know Europe and other continents went through a lot b4 they got to where they are now. But they paid a heavy price for it.Not sure?Something for something. But were they enslaved at a larger scale like us? Do they butcher each other like us? Do they had wide spread diseases and hatred like us? They had brutal dictators I heard but the world was helping them against those tyrants. Why no they inturn paybach what they owed us? I know God will never come down to stop this mass killings from Cairo to Pretoria,I know that We have to stop it ourselves but who will take the bull by the horn? Am sure everyone is afraid to die first. But its ok to pick us one by one maybe you might be lucky to tell the tale to the young generation. This is our thinking. So who will make the first move against the tyrants accross Africa? Sitasungo |

Lack of educations is what is holding Africa back from moving forward. African leaders have no genuine social or economic projects that will eventually deliver Africa and her sons and daughter to the land of prosperity and equal opportunity.
We are helping the leaders realising their aims of self perpetuatign rule and riches for live by executing their very dirty and evil strategies of staying on course.
Look to day in the Gambia for example, yaya himself is not doing the actual torturing but fellow Gambians in the security services. They are the ones slaughtering their own brothers and sisters.
Until and unless we retreat and take stock of our disgusting habbits and behaviours things will take a long time to normalise.
We must behave responsibly and be responsible for one and other. After all the Europeans or the Africans are blessed with brains. The brain has to be used to bring progress and development to mankind. The brain will be useless without education though. The human without education is just like a wild animal, easy to manipulate and orientate to do as you wish. |

Thanks for your reply, Sitasungo. I am sure your knowledge of European and other continents history is far more extensive than mine , especially African history, though I´m trying to learn.
For a long time there existed a system of villein in this country, which was a kind of enslavement. Poor people had to work for a farmer withouth payment, they were not free. The system was abolished as late as 1944. But the cruelty in the systeme was far from that the slaves from African continent went through. Kings and competitors in our history has been very cruel and sometimes killed their own brothers. I think it could be comparable to the situation in the Gambia today. I´m sure you know about the genocide in Yogoslavia only a couple of years ago. Did you know there was a civil war in Finland after world war I? We have had dictators like Mussolini and Hitler, and yes, we got help, from Americans but also from Gambians who fought on British side. I learnt about that as late as 1995 when I happened to walk to the graveyard for World War II victims in Fajara.
The sad thing is, Sitasungo, I am afraid we are not coming to your rescue....

Thanks for your concern my brother, Well we have a saying in Mandinka whick ran as thus:"KEBA DI BI LA LOO LA, NING MO LU MAY E JE, EFA NGO KE E FAN JE LE" Which means :"An elder who stands in the dark,if people did not see you, you see your self" If we cannot have aid, fair enough but what aboiut us? I have asked for help from my brothers in the diasphora but they too are fearful their families will be persecuted here and whether they do what I ask or not we are persecuted day and night. So eventually when they come home, and they fall victims, then they will realise what I am talking about. Now in the Gambia two people seen talking at a corner, the police will arrest you and accuse you of colarborating to overthrow the Doctor. He has become a prophet for the supreme Islamic council, and the churchs.everyone sing praise of him.I wish I were a griot so that I can come very close to him.
