Jammeh's notorious broom is taking a new direction now, i.e. turning its aggressive whooping lashes towards the SIC membership. Religious tolerance, acceptance and recognition is a MUST, the same way that racial/tribal/cultural recognition is a MUST as exemplafied by the holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The latest from Jammeh proves to all and sundry that Jammeh's state of mind is truly questionable.
The saying that quote:
'what goes around comes around'
is a living utterance. For too long, some of the SIC members hasn't condemned Jammeh's outrageous deeds. Imams and priests are also guardians of communities. In their sermons, it should reflect the daily occurences within the regions, especially oppression on the innocent citizenry which marred the Gambian state since Jammeh's emmergence to power . Failure to do so, terror will creep further not only at silencing their voices but also lash them with the scary electric broom.
I only hope Gambians and their friends in all works of lives will begin to take charge of their destiny, instead of waiting till Jammeh's aggression gets to them. I would perfectly think quote:
'prevention is better than cure.'
In our hal pular culture, I often heard an idiomatic expression, thus: quote:
"If it takes you long to cry or shed tears, start pulling your facial muscles before getting to the funeral of a love one."

Hey Brothe Dalton, I hope that life is treating you fairly. I am in The Gambia, working, please by all means come in anytime for a chat ... lol, exactly one year and my experience here is touching .... the very extreme of life exist here, on one side selfish ... on the other side is the humble and selfless.

Brother Dalton, I think it is rediculous that Jammeh and his hypocrit imams preach to the world what religion people can and cannot practice. Even the prophets acknowledged existence of other religions and people are open to practice any religion they want to practice.
Gambia has always been a tolerant state in religous operations, but since this so called Muslim who only become one after getting into the Presidency is making people sick of his religious rhetorics. He drove the Amadis who contributed so much to our economic development more than any other religious sector in the Gambia.
This fanatics, half baked educated religious bigots should not be preaching clean house when their houses are dirtier than anybody else. With an ignorant leader, such religious fundamentalist can plung a nation into chaos. I hope they learn a lesson and leave the people alone.

These Quotes from above Gainako.com appear to be a political statement and shot at our humble Imam Baba Leigh;

More information as Daily Observer reports and what appears to be a similar quote from its report;
"President Jammeh, renowned for his uncompromising faith and affinity to Islam, warned against wolves in sheep clothing and proxies. He alluded to a “a self-appointed, so-called Imam, who studied electrical engineering in Libya; somebody who did not even have a mosque and did not expect to be an Imam”.

Good job to you all, especially our long time contributor bro Somita.
I am glad you are still keeping hopes alive. Please expound! It is very important that silence doesn't grip us, because part of our way of giving hope is to address these issues daily as a reminder that bad leadership exists somewhere. These injustices are a pain in the butt.
FYI, I appreciate your post. I wish all Gambians & their friends well.

There is certainly alot of things to report from our beloved mother land, im not sure where to start, government mechinery or dubios government offecial, etc. One fact i would like to set straight is that the level of poverty is increasing while on the other hand the so call rich are getting richer .... most of them non-gambians. I think most of you will be scared with the level of economic lebanisation (owe by lebanese) that is sweeping the length and breath of the country.
Of course its not very difficult to see why the lebanese communiunity is taking ownership of the key economic performers, their dubios business ethics is widely documented across the globe with little respect to local labour.
Although academics would suggest that our economy data is doing ok, the reality on the ground here is very different. The fact is governement has no consistent economic policy, its all hacked together by APRC politic mechinery manned by uneducated morons. The so parliament is near non functional, opposition non existing, to be exact, its a one party system, little sort of Burma .... a mockery to democracy.
Anyway guys i have to stop here for today ... will keep in touch. |

| Somita, a pretty village in the Foni outskirts i remember you, every time I drive to Soma i see your beautiful face, serene and so calm.Bro your chosen name is so nice and reading your posting made me go cool in the stomach.You reminded me of that nice village with a very hard working people whom you would find uncomplaining about their hardship but working hard to survive as they can, not depending on others but their hard earn farming yields.Now I read that hardship abounds in that dear country of ours and that we are seeing an explosive growth of Lebanese businesses in the country. What is so significant is about this the relative comparison to their self same appearance in Sierra Leone before the bloody wars that wreaked havoc on its people.I cry for my people and in despair I offer my solemn prayers that they get salvation some how. |
