I didnt think Gambia had death penalty for murder and yet he is talking about killing homosexuals and worst still his speeches will insite other stupid ignorant people to do terrible things to homosexuals.

I dispair!

I think amnesty international wil be very interested in this latest development.

Human rights are important and we need to vote with our feet!!!!

I am SERIOUSLY thinking about not going back........ but the only thing with that is the children I help will suffer, not the president.

I do strongly believe that H.E is just gagging for some International attention. He did not received as much attention as he expected when he came up with his AIDS cure fingy so he's now going after the homosexuals....or maybe this could be another way of getting more money from Iran and Venezuela.

Sorry to say Akemo but the fact is he started off with thieves , We don't only have thieves we have armed robbers something foreign to Gambians. How many times did armed thieves kill innocent people either because they got startled or just to cover the evidence, He wants to weed out the bad elements in our society yet that is not of importance to you bro. My question again why did they run away from senegal and what are they doing in Gambia to deserve such attention?. Most of these foreign behaviours are not accepted in our society yet very damn well tolerated. I knew a few faggets in Gambia including the most famous Gorr Gegaine ya'll know who he is . They kept it conspicious even though every one knew what they were. Jammeh knows a few faggets too and is not discriminatory against them either so do you and everyone on here. The problem is what are they doing in Gambia people??????.........................Peace

H.E. has reached Australia!!

Here is the link:
http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,23745361-5005962,00.html

Snippet

ECCENTRIC Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has threatened to behead gays unless they leave the country, according to reports.

"The Gambia is a country of believers ... sinful and immoral practices (such) as homosexuality will not be tolerated in this country," the president told a crowd at a political rally on May 15, local journalists said today.

He went on to say he would "cut off the head" of any gay person caught in The Gambia.

The anti-gay campaign continued in the Gambian pro-government media this week with the Daily Observer publishing a virulent editorial.

Dutch newspapers also published this new information from The Gambia. I cannot begin to cite all the online comments from readers. Overall reaction: stop all aidprojects and don't go there for a holiday. This will give Gambia a very bad image, and the population will suffer because of it.

Hmmm. OK prez thinks like that. What about people? They Support the idea?

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

Gambia has always been a multi-faith country especially during the last 100 years or so. This has nothing to do with religion but the man's own evilness. It is sad to say that I am not surprised that I could see this one coming months ago and there is more to come unless this prince of darkness is removed from office with his clones.

I will not name names, but those who agree with this decree will come to regret it when he move on to another group in months/years to come, and them or their families are directly affected. At the moment, it does not affect them so they can use their narrow mindedness in support of this decree, but they will come to regret it in the future. I hope for their sakes, they/their families never go through that. Instead of wising up to the fact that, this man is destroying the Gambia and this is merely the begining, they sat-back and clapped their hands in support of this devil.

Note: It does not matter whether you support homosexuality or not. Think outside the box.

The Gay lobby needs to take a chill pill with their over-the-top call for economic sanctions in the Gambia. What next, are they going to declare the same spoon war on the whole of Middle East and Africa as well because homosexuality is a sodomy act which is illegal in all of these countries. Every person has the right to not accept accept homosexuality as a freedom of expression. That is why the Catholic Church, some other churches and mosques all over the West continue denounce homosexuality without any repercussion. Jammeh is no different from Catholic and other church clergy and Imams in that respect. His outburst about "beheading" is more a metaphor than literally meaning that act. Last time i checked there were no guillotines in the Gambia. Some lifestyles do not fit in some cultures period!! The western media is just picking on Jammeh because of his highly volatile and explosive nature. I am very certain he is not the first African leader to denounce homosexuality.

Guess who introduced anti-sodomy and Gay laws in the Gambia? The British, with their bible and all!!! It is not Jammeh's law.

If you dont agree with an act, you can decide not to do it. You can also speak against it if you are in a free society.

What I object to are the incitments and the annoucements that those caught wil be beheaded.

For the record i am not homosexual. I am not particulary in favour of homosexual acts.

But I do believe in the right of the individual to live and open, true and honest life and not be persecuted because of their sexuality.
