Response to recent statement made by one Serigne Omar Faal on GRTS
With utmost degree of respect and the high regard I had for you and my beloved fellow citizens of the Gambia,, may I take this opportunity to set the record straight in the light of recent T.V statement made by the above named individual.
Alieu Jobe in someone I called may friend as a result of a close cordial working relationship , and as for Serigne Omar Faal, I got introduced to him by a friend sometime in 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya, where I was attending an offcial meeting.
I want all Gambians to hear me loud ard clear that the stories presented to you by this individual is grossly inaccurate and have indeed, taken me by unbelievable stunning suprise especially, the pathological lies of Serigne Omar Faal. Infact, for everyonés general information, I have recently left the country to attend officially authorised meetings in the Republic of Guinea - Bissau to be followed by another meeting in Burkina Faso.
To The ALL Mighty ALLAH, to whom I stand, I hereby sincerely and honestly swear in HIS great name, to make the following statement intended to catelog the sequence of events on what has actually / truly transpired between Alieu Jobe, my self and Serigne Omar Faal.
1) Sometime around mid-day of 21 march 2006, and while in Alieu Jobés office, Alieu requested me to help him find a local marabou who could offer him much needed prayers for his personal blessings.
2) If a good friend, (Alieu) needs such prayers for personal blessing from a marabou, and I as a friend who wishes Alieu well at all times, I did not hisistated to contact for him one marabou whom I once knew, Serigne Omar faal. On this afternoon (mid) of 21 march 2006, I cantacted Serigne Omar faal , but I was made to understand that he was in Senegal, and shall be coming to Banjul later in the afternoon. At the clôse of work, approximetely around 4 :30 pm – 5 : 00pm, I learned that Serigne Omar faal is back. Upon contacting Serigne Omar faal, I said to him a good friend of mine , Alieu Jobe, has asked me to request that you perform him (Alieu) vital prayers for his personal blessings.
3) Therefore, when I first contacted Serigne Omar faal , this was exactly what I told him since this was what Alieu told me. I did not see anything quite extraordinary about such request honestly. Based on the above information I first transmittted to Serigne Omar faal (Alieu’s prayer request), Serigne Omar faal consented to offer such spritual prayers to Alieu Jobe which should start at any date choosen by Serigne Omar faal. Alieu was never concerned about when the prayers would begin.
4) In the name of ALLAH, the Almigthy, I hereby honestly swear that : approximately around 6 : 00 pm on 21 march 2006 was when Serigne Omar faal informed me that I should contact Alieu Jobe to tell him that before he (Serigne Omar faal) could start the prayers he (Alieu) need to give out as charity 3 sheeps inorder for there be success in his prayers. I transmitted the message to Alieu Jobe over the phone, and I also remembered telling him that Iwill be going home to take a shower before proceeding to my other wifés compound to have my lunch. Alieu said that he was busy and appealled to me to meet with him inorder to receive money from him, assist buy the 3 sheeps for him, and then take a taxi to transport them to Serigne Omar faal’s residence
5) At this particular moment, given such friendly appeal, I did not see anyhing evil to assist a busy friend give out a charity which could ease his prayer process. I complied to meet with Alieu to receive the money for the 3 sheeps ( charity). Alieu also asked me to take the 3 sheeps to Serigne Omar faal because he (Serigne Omar faal), Alieu said, knows what to do with the sheeps; it was through Serigne Omar faal’s spritual findings that he (Serigne Omar faal) has identified the need for the charity. Therefore, Serigne Omar faal knew exactly that the 3 sheeps he made mentioned to Alieu Jobe through me, were being transported to his résidence.
6) Infact, I had told him (Serigne Omar faal) that Alieu has given me the money to buy the 3 sheeps, and they would be brought to him since he knows exactly what to do with them. Serigne Omar faal cannot therefore be suprised by any means when the 3 sheeps were brought to him by me (Abdou), nor did he (Serigne Omar faal) ever asked me to take them to my compound. what do I (Abdou) have to do with the 3 sheeps ? I am not the one doing the prayers.
KEY TURNING POINT
7) While I (Abdou) was at Serigne Omar faal’s residence, and as he was supervising the charity process (slaughtering the 2 sheeps and was distributing the meat as he deems fit) at approximately around 7:00 pm – 7:30 pm on the 21 march 2006, Alieu Jobe called me over the telephone to tell me something very stranged, disturbing and shucking:
(A) Deen, I have just learned that something really bad was in the making, but thank God it seems that it has failed. I eagerly asked him what was this real bad thing? He said to me some guys, most of whom I knew were going to lauch a coup this night, but they did not succesd as I ( Alieu) was told just now.
(B) Deen, according to the information, I (Alieu) had just received, it seems that the plotter’s actvities were leaked, and it has reached the President in Mauritania. I (Alieu) was also informed that the officers involved were being arrested. He (Alieu) said he know most of them (soldiers).
8) Frankly speaking, it was at this particular moment (7:30-8:00pm on 21 march 2006) when Alieu asked me to direct him to Serigne Omar faal’s resident to come meet us, as well as, to explain to him the bad thing he (Alieu) have just heard, and has also informed me about. while still at Serigne Omar Faal’s residence and before going out to meet with Alieu to lead him to the residence, I TOLD SERIGNE OMAR FAAL WHAT I HAVE JUST BEING INFORMED ABOUT BY ALIEU JOBE OVER THE TELEPHONE approximately around 7: 00- 7: 30pm on 21 march 2006.
9) It was sometime around 8:00 pm and beyond on 21 march 2006 when I led Alieu Jobe to, for the first time, see and meet with Serigne Omar faal, and to inform Serigne Omar faal about the news with just heard. Following the formal introduction, and I, having informed Serigne Omar faal about what Alieu knew just now, Alieu appealled to Serigne Omar faal to perform more prayers for peaceful ending to the current brewing problems. Because the wolof would say, AI DU EM SI BOPI BOROM . Therefore, AS FAR AS I KNOW, SERIGNE OMAR FAAL ONLY KNEW ABOUT THE REAL COUP MATTER AFTER ALIEU JOBE’S LATE DISCOVERY OF IT / EVENING TELEPHONE CALL ON 21 MARCH 2006 WHICH I (ABDOU) HAS TRANSMITTED TO HIM (SERIGNE OMAR FAAL). After Alieu arrived and explained what he (Alieu) now know, Serigne Omar Faal later gave him (Alieu) some charms (jujus), something to drink, and promise to offer more prayers inorder for there be peace in the end.
10) As far as I (Abdou) know, even at the time when I was asked by Alieu Jobe to take 3 sheeps (charity) to Serigne Omar faal’s residence, and Alieu has not yet come up with the late evening stunning information, I don’t honestly think that he (Serigne Omar faal) definatively knew what was suppose to happen. Since I was Sincerely and innocently assisting Alieu Jobe to give out a charity as directed by him (Serigne Omar faal), and moreover, Alieu has not yet knew any thing or even informed me about anything, I JUST DONT KNOW HOW I CAN TELL SOMEBODY SOMETHING I TOO DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT. If Serigne Omar Faal knew definatetively what was suppose to take place in that very evering of 21 march 2006, maybe he knew it from his own spritual findings, and did not even border to tell me whilst I was innocently helping my friend give out a charity for his own good under Serigne Omar faal’s directives.
11) I (Abdou) want every fair minded Gambian NOT TO RUST TO JUDGEMENT and to listen to me attentively. I have never in my lifetime ever told Serigne Omar faal, prior to the 21 march 2006 evening event, about any planned coup attempt. First, think of this, why should I Abdou Deen have interest in a coup? What do I have to gain from a coup plot which I do no even know was going to happen or knew the people to be involved ? Even if such coup has succeeded, how can a friend (Alieu Jobe) become President since he did not lead any such effort. Serigne Omar faal should be frank enough with Gambians. I seriously wondered why Serigne Omar faal is saying such unfounded, outrageous things against me? Is it because he (Serigne Omar faal) is grossly mad with me for failing to come to the MAGAL or is it because I failed to send my contribution to his Gamos or failed to pay him a special visit in Touba or what? Is it because he thinks that I am a mere lip-service Murit, which he did not like about me? What is it Serigne Omar faal? Please tell us your true motives.
12) I have never talked to Serigne Omar faal about Alieu Jobe until the after noon of 21 march 2006 on his return from Senegal when I (Abdou) informes him about Alieu Jobe, a friend, who needed spritual personal blessings prayers. Serigne Omar faal did not know, or even saw Alieu Jobe prior to the evening meeting of 21 march 2006 at his residence. I implore all Gambians to closely assess what Serigne Omar faal has said on T.V. How can I (Abdou) meet with Serigne Omar faal just once in Nairobi, Kenya, where I left him and returned back home from an official trip, and that I later kept on telling him that a coup plot is underway in the Gambia, and that Alieu Jobe is going to be the president? Is this statement not just utterly ridiculous? I am not spritually gifted like him (Serigne Omar faal) so how can I instead tell him prophecies? Did I spritually entered into the brains of the soldiers who were suppose to stage a coup, if any, to even know that Alieu Jobe would become president. Are Gambans not amazed by this outrageous statement by Serigne Omar faal? I just dont know how a so-called muslim scholar can fabricate boldface lies, is it out of sheer desparation, madness or what?
13) If Serigne Omar faal is a true God fearing person as he tries to potray, and if he is deeply aware of the seriousness of unjustly tarnishing a fellow muslim brother’s image in the eyes of ALLAH for either selfish, desparation, or unjustified unknown reasons, I am quite sure that he (Serigne Omar faal) would have preferred to rather die alone than to attempt to unfairly apply stain on to an innocent individual.
14) I want to assure all Gambians, and to you H.E, the President that the allegations made by Serigne Omar faal are grossly unfounded, fabricated lies, which to me, sounds like a day dream. How come that I (Abdou), an ordinary man has been telling a spritually gifted person what would happen in the future? Is this not ridiculous? Serigne Omar’s Story in totally flawed and without any valuable substance or sensibility. My only role, as far as I know, was that of a mere innocent helper to a friend, Alieu Jobe, who requested my assistance to find him a marabou to perform spritual prayers for his personal blessings, and at the time of helping him (give out the charity), I really did not know whether something like a coup was going to happen on the evening of 21 march 2006.
15) Other Serigne Omar faal’s boldface lies is also that, I Abdou Deen even told his wife that a coup plot was going to takeplace. Please Gambians ask Serigne Omar faal’s wife to perform a purification body wash and swear to the HOLY KORAN if what her husband’s said is true. I have no doubt that Serigne Omar’s wife is a God fearing person and will not do so because, I Abdou Deen have never discussed with her any such matter at any one time. Fellow Gambians do you seriously belief that any sane person who knew something as dangerous as a coup plot would even likely tell his own wife much more to a stranger woman? Serigne Omar faal, please Gambians are too smart, they would not buy your insensible lies and gross frabrications. Please remember that TRUTH IS NEVER FLAWED OR FAILS TO MAKE GOODSENSE. Serigne Omar,why are you randomly lying? Anyway, I leave everything with God, HE is the overall judge of all deeds and statements of man.
16) Another Stunning lie by Serigne Omar faal is that he (Serigne Omar faal) has insisted that I should take the 3 sheeps (Alieu’s Charity) to my compound. Gambians, does this make any sense to you? Serigne Omar faal is the only one who, through his spritual findings, found the need for such charity for Alieu, and hence, he (Serigne Omar faal) knew exactly what to do with them, how can he now tell Gambians that he insisted that I Abdou Deen should take them (3sheeps) to my compound. You Gambians can all see that he (Serigne Omar faal) is flatly lying once again. There is no sense in what he said. Do I know what really needs to be done with the 3 sheeps Serigne Omar? I am not the one performing the prayers, but you.
CLOSING REMARKS
17) My fellow Gambians, Your Excellency, The President, I am quite sure that you are fair-minded people, and I highly believed that you would take time to fully assess and digest my testimony based on it’s merit and sensibility, and to reach a just conclusion. I honestly believed that in the end my only role would be, AN INNOCENT FRIEND HELPING A FRIEND ACQUIRE PRAYERS FOR PERSONAL BLESSINGS, WHICH I AS A FRIEND, DID NOT SEE ANYTHING BAD ABOUT IT. Anyway, I deeply, regret any inconvience cause. Mr. President, may ALLAH, the Almighty bless you and the entire people of the Gambia, guide you also in your noble quest to elevate The Gambia to unparalled heights.

Where is abdou Deen. Is he among those arrested. I am lost. If there is one sentence i can summarise the above posting it will be this. If anyone can tell you that he sees the future he must be fooling you. If the serigne was suposed to see the future, how come he did not even know there was a coup in the offing. It raises our weakness that is being exploited. Pray for yourselves and God will alisten. You do not need someone to pray for you on behalf of God because the road to salvation is in every one of us. Sorry to those who do not believe in God but i do.

| Kondorong, this is the dark side of us and it will always be there till doomsday.They are the dark economic gurus and they contribute a lot in our economy as well. |

Kondorong,the dark economic gurus infiltrated our society so much to an extent that what ever you going to do in that country you have to consult them to forcast the outcome.They use their own time series analysis method and use it in a way that will suit them in other for you come back every time you are in need.They are too crafty.
Kon, their hand is every where in the economy.whether you want to start a business, you want to travel, you are ill( good physicians indeed), want a child,you want a loan,steal no one will say anything and even if you want to be a president they can help.
The reason i called them economic gurus is, since economics covered every part of the economy sector, they covered almost every part of our social life as well.These people are the most powerful force within our society.
Kon,its is not modern economics which is the opium of the government but dark economic gurus.By taking over so much of our existence, dark economic forces deadens us and restrict our horizons.

You cannot avoid them. They are everywhere and Bun Jeng was their greatest critic when he said people should stop telling others that they dreamnt about them and are using the prayer beads as a means of sustenance. He hated it and up to his death, he used to go to the farm to cultivate food to feed his family.
You will be suprised that they are financially well to do group and have good investments like real estate. They are good at playing on our desires to progress and Sankofa drank a lot from this. They are almost the equivalent of a psychologist in the west. |

This is my nightmare. The thing is if someone claims to be able to gift you the world why won't they do it for themselves or their children. This is a masive problem in the Gambia now. Whatever people are about to do they have to consult the marabout first. WHERE IS THE ALMIGHTY ALLAH NOW? Is he disabled or do we still believe in him.
The amount of money we spend on marabout business could have sustained every family. People will instead deny their family a decent meal only to give the money to a marabout. I regard this as unacceptable. |

| I think a conservative amount will be atleast 10 million dalasis to marabouts within the economy. That is every gambian spending 10.00 a year for the marabout. The three shep above will certainly cost 8000.00. So it can be safe enough to say increase the estimate to about 100 million is spent on this sector of our economy. A lot of money indeed. |

This is incrediblly unbelievable. We must go back to revisit some of the things we do then we will realise that we are leading astray.
If we want blessing we must please MUM and DAD. These people's prayers for us are like "KUN FA YAKUN" (be and it will be). No marabout will tell you this because they are fearful of going out of business. If Mum or Dad prays for us, it will always be accepted.
If you want good, do good to your parents and you will always be blessed. You will not only be blessed but your own kids will eventually look after you.
Let us put it into practice, when you have a problem that you want blessing over, take the same amount allocated for the marabout and give it to your parents and ask them to pray for you.
This is not say that one should not pay respect to decent muslim brothers who you consider to be closer to Allah than you are. We should all lower ourselves before each other as a mark of respect. There is nothing wrong with that. But it connot be acceptable to put other people in the place Allah. I cannot understand this. |

These are part of our way of life affecting our hinderance to development and must be critically address with other agendas in our quest to inform, educate and re-orientate the masses from the crude way of life towards advancement and development. | As far I know Abdou Deen is in Dakar, Senegal and as far as I know I have nothing to doubt his side of events. This is a guy who has studied in the united States and Left the U.S to contribute to the economic development of the Gambia. It is a Shame what our beloved country has turn into. It should be obvious that this is a witch hunt by Jammeh to remove any perceive threat to him and his goverment. |
