I remember seeing a young man crying in the streets just around the Latrikunda Sabiji market. He was following an elderly man and begging him to return his male organ . The man kept walking on and refused to respond to the young mans pleas.A family member of the young man happened to be around and asked the boy what happened, he replied that the other man greeted him by shaking hands and he immediately noticed that his male organ was gone. The family member then pounced upon the the man and with the help of the crowd that gathered ,forced the man to the police station ; Bundung. I followed and in the station a police officer listened to the complaint and went into an office to see if the boy,s private part was really missing. He came out and informed the boys family member that he could see the boys private part but that the boy is claiming that it was either changed or made smaller. The station officer intervened and made the boy and his alleged assaulter to join him in the office. The boy came out later and told every one that he has got his organ back and happy. The man was kept in the station according the police for his safety .I took this for what some would call rumor mongering but I was surely a witness to such an encounter. I just read the Senegalese news paper (rewmi) recounting a similar report, which some dismissed as mere rumor. What is clear is that there were several reports of such incidents in The Gambia.
