i GUESS NCP WAS THE ONLY PARTY THEN THAT WAS A CHALLENGE TO jAWARA. MY FOLLOWING HIM WAS BECAUSE I HAD NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE. HOWEVER WHEN PDOIS CAME UP, I SWITCHED AND REMAINED A SUPPORTER SINCE THEN. BESIDES I WAS A VERY YOUNG MAN THEN AND A NOVICE IN POLITICS. |

We are all defending democracy and the rule of law. The simple truth is this whoever associates with jammeh must be prepared to taste his heavy-handedness.
As long as we are not prepared to learn from our own mistakes or other people's mistakes, we will always fall in the same traps.
This is why I have an ever growing respect and admiration for Hon Halifa Sallah. This gentleman will never sacrify his believes and integrity for any thing. When these boy came to power one of the first persons they invited in their government was Halifa. He turned it down in defence of his principles and believes.
Dibba is far older than Halifa and therefore should have displayed a higher level of maturity but he didn't because of greed and short sightedness. I can vividly remember his exchanges with halifa in the house when he was being rude to Halifa, shouting at him to sit down without making his entitled statement.
These people have been there to facilitate yaya's rotten strategies and now we are left to sympathise with their condition. It makes me angry and not rejoicing one second.
I hope he has learned his lessons and will for God sake defend the indefensible after his release or distance himself. |

yOU ARE RIGHT tAALIBEH sHERRIFF HAS USED HIS OFFICE AS SPEAKER TO STIFLE THE OPPOSITION . THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. I USED TO ATTEND ALMOST EVERY HOUSE SITTING PRIOR TO 1994 AND WHEN SHERIFF WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE, HE USED TO GET SO ANGRY THAT HE WOULD WALK OUT WITH MAJANGKO SAMUSA. WE ALL USED TO LEAVE WITH HIM. HE SHOULD THEREFORE NOT PERPETRATE THE SAME INJUSTICE NOW THAT HE IS SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE. BUT MAN NEVER LEARNS FROM HISTORY. |

Konds people should leave yaya alone with all the government departments to run himself.
Then he will know that he alone cannot do everything.
Gorr goodnight. I'm off to drop my sister to work.
See tomorrow INSHA ALLAH. BYE |

If you people talk about the parrot, then you are just like Dibba himself. You see when My father and others were NCP ,they didnot know Dibba.DIBBA AND JAMMEH ARE ONE AND THE SAME PEOPLE. Always out on revenge. My friend how many people have suffered in the NCP during the first republic just supporting Dibba? My Dad was sent to Mile two alledged to be amongst Kukoi's men, when in the actual fact I was with him on the farm on that fatefulday up in the provinces. When I hear the Name Sheriff Dibba, my heart jumps.Though he should be brought to book as I have no grudges against him,but sall I know is the man is evil.He thinks the whole Gambia hates him and don't want him to be president. That was his main reason of joining the APRC.He definately didn't love Jammeh but Himself only and did it to make many people angry as he though people betrayed him. I remember my father used to say WALIMANG will be made president by Jammeh.Though I pity my Dad for his strong support of Dibba,I cannot understand what made him strongly belief that Yaya Jammeh of all people will relinguish power and give it to sheriff. Sheriff Mustapha Dibba is as bad as Jammeh and any one who wants to disputer this, ask me for our house was NCP since it was formed. |

he believes is power and has shown that while in office. He likes to be respected and would demand it. He is yaya incarnated in some sense. |

Sitasungo:
I understand your strong feelings about Dibba. I know a few other people with similar experiences in the Gambia. However,Gambia is ( or supposed to be) a country of laws.If Dibba or anyone has committed wrongs against you or your family member the appropriate way is to sue them (or file a complain with the appropriate authorities).I know Gambia is not a very litigious society and so many people prefer to live with their grievances than seek legal action. Also Dibba's conduct as speaker of the house may stifle or disfavor the opposition to my own disapproval , but that is not sufficient ground to justify his arbitrary arrest and detention (without probable cause).Dibba made some very wrong choices and i hope those are addressed appropriately one day. Halifa Sallah is my star ; matter of fact I am a PDOIS supporter and spent a lot of time at their offices when i lived in Gambia.I saluted both Halifa and Sam when they turned down Jammeh's offer of ministerial positions as a matter of principle and ideology. But you know what made Halifa and all democratically minded people is that they will not hesitate to come to the defence of their opponents if they fall victims of undemocratic means. This is the reason we defend O.J despite his role in PPP; Sadibu Hydara , Sana Sabally and Koro Ceesay despite their roles in the APRC government; and all the alleged coupists of March 21, 2006 despite their role in the Jammeh government. I will not hesitate to defend Jammeh himself if one day he is being punished by using undemocratic means for his alledged wrongdoings. That is the decency we need to exercise. All we ask for is that all alledged wrongdoers have their day in court, and if if they are found guilty then I rest my case .Until then we cannot succumb to emotions and sentiments about remembered past to justify the perpetration of injustice and undemocratic practices in our motherland . I know we can say this over and over and over , but I thank all of you for your insight and contribution to this controversial issue.

The point is Dibba should have avoided the trap by simply abstaining. Listen bro, Monsieur Dibba is a fully grown up. He should not have come close to jammeh.
Jammeh known nothing other than selfishness and betrayal. Dibba knew that the end point of his relationship with jammeh would be ugly. He decided to get involve and now let his taste what other people have long tasted and are still continuing to taste. Who feels it knows it.
Do not be surprise when you hear next that Sir Dawda is arrested. Just watch out. The primary architect of this situation is Sir Dawda. It just takes saja taal a matter of moments to go an poison yaya's mind about the pa and the NIA personnel will be knocking his door at 0200am. Watch out what happens next. |

Well for Jawara to recognise and embrace a government that came to power through force is a betrayal of trust as Commander In Chief and the last defender of the constitution. Well if he is arrested he has no one to blame.
You see being president is being willing to die to protect the Constitution, to do any thing to the contrary is is betrayal. Being president is a supreme sacrifice and he should have stood his ground because he had the power of the majority as President.
