MOB JUSTICE RESULTS IN DEATH
9 People Arrested

Reliable information reaching Foroyaa from Bansang, Central River Region, has it that one Sheikh Bahayil Faal, a Senegalese Citizen, was beaten mercilessly by an angry mob until he died. The incident is said to have happened on Tuesday, 8 April.
According to our sources, Mr. Faal was a tenant in the compound of one Mrs. Fatou Kebbeh, who served notice on him to vacate, but Mr. Faal insisted on staying. Sources pointed out that Mr. Faal later started insulting any one who dared intervene in the problem. It is said that one Omar Ndow (alias “Nyohor”) attempted to mediate but was seriously injured by Mr. Faal with a cutlass on his left hand. Reports also have it that the crowd of onlookers at the scene lost were angered by this and therefore decended on Mr. Faal. The angry mob beat him unconscious and then dragged him to the police station.
The police spokesperson, Inspector Sulayman Secka, confirmed the incident and said that Mr. Faal eventually died before the police could get him to the town’s hospital. Inspector Secka said that nine people were arrested in connection to the incident. He disclosed that the nine suspects are being detained at Janjangbureh Police Station and are helping the police in their investigation into the matter.
