Santa,

To begin with, if i had a difference of opinion with Dalton about Gainako, they were man enough to own up to it or make amendments. But for some one to run riots when he's reminded of his duties, thats madness. It is folly on ur side to think that the conscious poeple on this bantaba will buy ur cheap shot of me trying to set the online media one against the other. Of all the rejoinders on this issue, none has accused me of such. Are you insinuating that they aren't intelligent enough to see that? Com'on brother wake up from ur slumber. This is not about MADIBA.

It is sad to see you argue that ur justification for this yellow jounalism is that Jammeh too is practcing such with the state media at his fingers. Now you are telling me that YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN JAMMEH. You can respect or disrespect the other online outfits that doesn't change much. Becos as it stands now the difference in the level of journalism of these papers is obvious for all those with clear eyes to see.

You need not remind us here about the shortcomings of the state media becos its already common knowledge. Thats not news worthy. Or its stale news. That should have been the more reasn why you are your new found love should deliver or shut up

You know what? its manliness to accept ones mistake and make amends. After all to err is human.

To conclude, santa your delirium is not my problem. Going by the the number of rejoinders on this thread , i am convinced i am not wrong in feeling the way i feel with regards to certain online media.
Have a good day.

Is Cherno Baba Pompous or Jealous?

The Gambia Echo's Newsroom - Editor’s Note:
What defies my imagination however, is why Cherno Baba Jallow (Gambia’s best and most educated journalist- so we are told!!!) characterizes us as “Lairs, too-little educated, not-up-to-date-with-facts-back-home, malicious and unqualified to do the job”? What schools did Cherno attend and what extra-ordinary qualifications did he possess to make him think that all others are academically and intellectually infra dig?

the state media's short coming may not be news worthy to you but it is to many. what evaluations have you done to come to the conclusion that the statemedia's short coming is public knowledge? if your assertions are indeed true why is it that they bewitch many like you?
did gainako expresssively told you that they were at fault with your fault finding arquement with one of their editor dalton?

you as a reader of the online news papers need to express your feelings to them but in a respectable and sincere manner. you never bring any articles from the observer here concerning their short comings ,why is that?
one of the issue chee wrote about was about sarjo jallow. now if you know any things concrete about sarjo jallow, you should be able to realise his radicalism and strong will natured during the ppp era. sarjo jallow is one gambian intellecual whose standard of knowledge is very high. his comprehension indeed great. yet ,sarjo jallow, willinly deals with yahya who abuse the human rights of gambians, his marital life is none of my business and i am not the least interested in that. but his association with a tyrant is an issue for the gambia media.
yes, we need high standard news media, but don't you think we need high standard good governance first? the forth estate they call the media ,what is the first estate? is that in order? you cannot hide from the real issues for the sake of cheap attack on the online press.
the online media has advance the news search of many gambian people who without them will strugle with any worthy news to bite on. there are alternative news online papers that are subtle and less confrontational with the gambia news matters .read those one and leave others to read the more confrontational papers. the www.allgambian.net, www.gainako.com,www.thegambiajournal.com .this papers are less confrontation. some of those editors practice or were columnist in the gambia .read them if you wish. the freedom news paper like any institutions need self-analysis and room for improvements ,but they are doing a good job overall. yahya supress news and jail journalist ,whatever they get ,hell is news.you don't like that ,set up www.madibaethicalnews.com .
you quoted DA Jawo earlier ,but didn't you see his other comments about ''hell-manager''. before news ethicality ,let there be governement ethicality. how many gambian dare speak openly in their compounds about yahya government? is that what democracy is all about? when you supress news ,news comes out by itself.

The Gambia Echo's Newsroom - Editor’s Note:

that is the point worth analysing. chee should first of all do a fact finding mission to the gambia, check out wether ,the search for news and the publisinhg of news is still the same as before? chee knew dida hydara, did he comment on why still no body is punished for his death? is that not what is of more pressing significant than the socall essay on media being the enemy? yes yahya is an enemy of the gambia and gambian ,the media should be his enemy full frontal.
chee should present us with the conditions of news media back home and then tell the dificulty the media has and the solutions to those problem ,then he can advice his colleagues on the best methods to employ in finding a solution to the news black out. ethicality will come by itself. what did chee did, try to be silent for long and then come with an essay, that is provocative not an advice. is chee involve is geting news from the gambia? did he knows what expenditure the online folks undertake to get news?

Uncle Suntou & bro Madis,

Thanks both for a nice debate. Differences in opinion are very well welcome. This is a fundamental part in development. To some level, those in the media outlets should be ready to take criticism, because no one is immune from it. Dictatorial tendencies cannnot flourish democracy, either from gov't administrators or newspaper associates -at least never in history, which is why I am personally against jammeh and any other person that shows such tendencies.

I never wanted to weigh in-between an uncle & a brother in this case, but you guys put me on the spotlight.

Onn.jarama jeff!!

i am also part of this ride so i will definitely hitch a ride with my good bro Madiba.Santa your problem is you are a true disbeliever despite what you may want us to believe.A fake and a phoney is what i call you.Madiba never told you he was a journalist and i doubt he would even want to be known.Lets cut all this bull**** and face the realities,Most of the Gambia online co called newspapers have no relevance and are a carbon copy of what is illegal. The challenge posed by the Gainako is a worthy one and they have earned my respect even though i already knew they would rise to the challenge. One of the many reasons their name was not mentioned here.If you are a muslim like you stated and don't even listen to music whats your issue with lies and slander. A good muslim should avoid such by any means neccesary yet it seems to me all the fake muslims in the word reside in Gambia..........................Peace

the media blackout that your love one yahya is presiding over ,what say you on those? pa will continue to expose yahya come day or night and you can hide behind your madiba ghost name to tell him what to do. when your love one stop messing with gambians ,then pa will stop diging up his mess.
as for pdois ,yes ,i don't support the party ,you want make that an issue, be my guest.
